He's actually a normal rent-a-cop working for a company that's owned by G.U.N., no a real soldier or agent and not really part of the system. Buuut that hasn't been explained yet.

Metal, why do you never check the perimeter before you go and do something stupid? You'd think a robot with an advanced AI would at least think to check the security roster and realize that shadow is on guard, instead of having this unforgettable "oh Crap" moment.
EvanStanley, believe me when I say you are not alone in your trouble. I to find myself unable to sleep because of all the thoughts and concepts, plots and adventures, whirling about in my head that they act like a cup of coffee.
Worse, I can't figure out how to beat that particular issue either.
I must admit I wasn't expecting to see Shadow still working for GUN... of course that is provided he worked for them in the past, which is possible. Maybe they just forgot about him after the emeralds vanished. I am also amused that after 200+ years, he still hasn't developed any kind of social sense. He's too stiff to even have it occur to him that Sonic needs to be... well, consoled? The guy is having a crisis of conscience, and he's too boorish to even realize that.
I wonder if metal can sense Ghost-Sonic. I mean I know Shadow and Silver can, but no one else seems able too. Maybe Sonic can make himself completely visible if he desires to, but passively he is invisible?
