Just me finally digging my puny little fingers into digital painting - FINALLY. I just did the face, because I know the face the best.. and my anatomy SUCKS ^^...This was done from a reference, found here!
I think I'm pretty happy with it.. it's a first try. ^^... I'll move this to scraps pretty soon.
Critiques, suggestions, tips, and what not, are all appreciated. I'd really like to improve at this digital realism painting.

Wow, lovely lovely. That's definitely Ayu!
As far as suggestions/crits are concerned... I'd say don't be afraid to push and vary the values of her skin tones more. (yellows on highlighted areas, blues/pruples in shadows, reds in general). Be adventurous!
But yeah, nice work thus far. Keep it up.

Hooray for faces though! They're so fun to draw ^^ My anatomy sucks too x_x I'm pretty sure we'll master it someday (soon hopefully x3 )! I'm glad I was able to coment on this before you moved it to scraps! I'm.. pretty late x_x
Hmm.. if it's a critique you want.. it definitely looks like ayumi hamasaki haha ^^ I guess more colors would bring more life to her face o.o maybe.. more reds yellows and blues? You could try make up more dramatic lighting sometimes; that's always fun ^_^

Looks great, the detail in the eyelashes and the shading on the lips look especially pretty.

It's good to know that you can recognize Ayu's face, even from my blobs. ^^. That means my experiment is recognizable. lol. I shall keep trying, though I'm dreading doing the hair.. >.>;

I'm trying my hardest.. I still have a lot to learn about shadowing and better blending in PS. I refuse to use the smudge tool, so I'm trying to blend it the painterly way. I'm so not used to the pressure insensitivities in PS..
And don't hoard all the critiquing to yourself! Got any suggestions from what you see here? More contrast?

AYU!!!! I love her eyes Devlin XD So glassy and interesting. The face structure looks great as do the skintones. It's definitley Ayu XD Cool work!
