Description I love lightning storms! A pretty big and vicious one hit the city last night, and I took my new DV and took a few snapshots out my window. I didn't have enough time to take the screen off my window, so the image looks a bit like it's been matrixed.

This one is a view looking out my OTHER window, facing north where the storm came from. The main house in the bottom belongs to the family that lives behind us (we have back-to-back backyards).. I wonder if they had a big mess to clean up afterwards? That window is ALWAYS open. I never see it closed.

This shot is terribly small because I have bad resolution on this camera.. it's enough to take little pictures with that are clear enough to use.. but no sharp details.

My reflexes are only good when I concentrate, I think. Though sometimes if something takes me by surprise, I react pretty quickly too.. ^_^.

I love lightening too but I've tried to take pics of it but I'm never fast enough.

I try to use a remote trigger so that I don't shake the camera when I'm trying to be fast.. that always used to happen to me. >.<

So hard to catch... my arm was getting pretty tired from holding up the camera after half an hour, so I stopped.. The storm was moving south anyway, and that's when I can't see it anymore. The northern view out of my back window is the best, since we live on a hill (obviously from this shot).

ooo you have inspired me to put up my "I wish I had my tripod at the time so i could shoot lightning"-lightning pictures xD

hmm.. wouldn't all kinds of stuff fly through the window? o.o; even animals or insects..... LIGHTNING O_O! Oh yea, my professor in Weather and Climate showed us a Lightning video in class. One of them was some guy's home video footage of a storm and he got hit by lightning at his window while filming O_O he like fell over but then got back up and kept filming and said "ahh... I got hit by lightning O_o" ..... it was kinda funny BE CAREFUL! @_____@;;

There's a very simple solution to that: keep the window closed. ^_^;;;
