Is this a Skathan life form? I love the mouth bits and the tail. Is the tail plated? It looks like it might be based on the bottom left sketch from behind

Not related to Skatha. Yep, the tail is plated and is actually where the reproductive organs are held, when they mate they unfold their tails and wrap them together, exchanging reproductive fluids. Then eggs grow on the underside but are protected by the tail.

Yep, they're omnivorous but they eat a lot of meat opposed to other things.

That's a pretty good size. Do they lay eggs or have live birth?

Eggs, their tails are folded under and hold the reproductive organs as well as where the eggs are stored. The eggs are very small.

They have weird little larva type things that grow into an adult

They parent them, but they are not bonded to young the way we are. They help raise them but if one dies it's not the end of the world, they have a lot of babies though.

Social, they live in family groups. Their social structure is pretty odd, I'll get into that later though.
