In other news, I'm still working on my Gotye piece, it's just taking a long time. I also have a canvas all painted and ready for Jared Leto, I'm just trying to find the perfect picture to put on it. I also painted two extra canvases but I'm not sure who I'm going to put on them.... Rick Genest might be making an appearance though...

This is quite the amazing form of traditional art with the dots and their density as well as intensity signifying the shades and their orientation marking the form of the work itself. This is quite wonderful with the curves and slightest shades also being marked across the neck and the contrast of dark black and white is quite amazing. Wonderful!

wow! i've never seen someone do pointillism for a portrait! even though, i always hated it in high school, i love this piece

you're welcome! you use it in a very creative way and to another level which i have never seen ^^ lawl, i never had an idea wth i was doing in school with it ..just a bunch of dots everywhere that i didn't even have enough patience to make >.<

Oh same. My teacher only taught it one way in school, and they end project was that we had to combine stippling, cross-hatching, and half a dozen other shading techniques to complete a single portrait. And it was a train wreck.
But I feel that experimenting with it by myself has really enabled me to get a feel for the technique and come to terms with the difficulties that it poses. : )

Aw thanks so much! It's weird, I didn't have patience for it at first, but now it's almost like a meditation for me. Just calming and totally unstresses my life when things get chaotic : )

AH I know! Ahaha I'll make sure that he's the next one up! He's been such a pain though because the canvas is SO bumpy and textured that it's been really hard to do this hair. Don't worry though, Euro Cup is on, so many an hour will be spend watching beautiful men play soccer and stippling Gotye's hair.
