I must say, I really love your animations here! 
I was talking to Kay for some advice towards starting the graphic novel version of my book. You two work so nicely together. 
My good friend *Kizamaji has collabed with me before on an animation competition piece called "Hoppity Meets Floppity" -- we wo 1st at regionals. The entire thing was drawn by hand (on tracing paper) scanned in, vectored in Adobe Illustrator, and colored in Photoshop. Looong process. 
But it might run fast in Firefox.

If you want to keep your art looking for "old-fashioned" (the look I prefer, actually), a tablet is a major boon. It allows for far more natural computer work than does a mouse, and it's easier on your hands too. The mouse I have is exclusively for gaming, I never use it casually.
That clip looks really cute! Do you have the entire piece uploaded somewhere? I'd love to see the rest.

I'll drop you a link if I can get it uploaded. But yeah, I draw everything in pencil and scan it in. I can't draw with a mouse...too frustrating.
This is a completely pencil animation (without vectoring) [link] It's best viewed in IE for some reason. Thanks so much for taking a look at the other clip-- I really need to learn more. I'll have to wait until I get into the animation and media classes in school. But playing around is kinda fun!

Do you draw each movement with a light box?? Just wondering on how you start your animations and what do you use to put them together? Would animation shop 3 work for this??

This was done entirely on Flash, but I have a tablet (to get that hand drawn look) and I use traditional animation techniques. I'm sure another program could do just as well, but I'm unfamiliar with animation shop so I can't give you a definitive answer. Nothing I do though is unique to flash, you could accompllish it in imageready even

Animation shop seems only to be able to animate things such as glowing text letters, walking in place, running in place, everything in place x_x It uses frames but that seems hard to draw something moving from lets say "this end of the page to the other" or out of the frame for a moment and back into it again.

thats so freaking awesome! I love the smoothness in the jump, especially how the toes spread as he turns around!
and a small critique the closer hind leg (when he's walking) seems a tad fat... otherwise its really awesome!
