More "dust" photography. I consider this my first obligatory "nighttime passenger train time exposure", though a little more off the beaten path, if you will. Most of these tend to be closer to the RoW, whereas mine is much further back for God-knows-why.

It was goddamn cold out (yes, I am a wuss and hate the cold), and AmTrak's eastbound Southwest Chief was over 90 minutes late coming through town, usually due at 2335, it was damn near 0100 when it rolled out east toward Dodge City and other stops east along the BNSF La Junta Sub. It was windy and dusty, and the lighting was terrible (not to mention those ridiculous utility poles in the foreground ); you can see a lot of the dust near the left center part of the frame.

But whatevs. This one came out alright. Yes, that's my truck in the shot. Woops.
