Description This is my wife's favorite of my ink drawings. It's one of the very few pieces of mine that have included flowers. Frankly, I don't like to draw or paint flowers. There are enough people in the world doing that. They seem to have a passion for flowers. I don't. I have a passion for beautiful, scantily-clad females and dark, corrupting evil. So, I draw them. But whaddya' know?! A picture showed up in my head with a beautiful, scantily-clad female, a dark, corrupting evil (check out the shape hidden in the tree), and some flowers! Lots of flowers! I was amazed.

If you can't see the evil guy hidden in the tree-bark, comment below and I'll edit/add some pointers in here. He's not that hard to spot, I think...

Enjoy! --Faile35

I can see skulls hidden in the flowers or maybe its just my imagination. And the guy in the tree looks like he wants something
And I love the nymph

Other people have said that about skulls in the flowers. I wouldn't doubt it; my subconscious has pulled that stunt before, much to my surprise and slight embarrassment when the hidden image turned out to be an obvious sexual reference... Thanks! --Faile35

goddamn this is outstanding bro! beautifully composed and inked. you definitely caught the mood... a tranquil setting with a hint of sinister evil about to strike out upon the hapless damsel.

took me a few moments but i spotted the baddie in the tree... brings to mind Old Man Willow from LOTR (the book, not the movie). nice job on the posies too...

Thank you, thank you! Some people spot "Mr. Sinister" right off, and others would never see him without some help. Old Man Willow was an interesting part of that series that Peter Jackson apparently couldn't work into the movies--it seems he tried to allude to it in the extended Two Towers when Merry and Pippin get swallowed up by a tree, but that's it. I still recall with clarity the Old Man Willow image from the Hildebrant Brothers calendar for LOTR and the Hobbit, which I liked. --Faile35

I think you really nailed this one. She looks so unaware of her impending doom. I think you might have a new career as a florist. A fav with your permission.

Well, you definitely have my permission. Thanks. "Innocence and Evil" seems to show up a lot in my stuff, as you know, although "impending" usually doesn't. The tranquility in this one was a surprise. Secretly, I maintain a large collection of wild flowers in my yard--morning glory, dandelions, alfalfa... --Faile35

Your choices or decisions in your art work are beyond reproach. Your choices of flowers in the back yard are questionable at best. U Bob

But they're pretty, and they require so little care, and the kids have such fun with them--it's like you're own jungle safari, right outside the back door... --Faile35

I can kinda guess why your wife likes this piece. It's very... nice. In tone and subject, it's much less suggestive than the many others in your gallery,
And it's probably why i don't quite like it as much,

PS: Full view it to see the bearded, perverted, evil man!

Thank you. It IS a rarity in my art, for certain. My wife likes the dramatic ones, too, but this one speaks to her. Actually, before I did this one (and another like it) her favorite was Date With a Demoness . Go figure. --Faile35

Lovley as allways!
The nymph is adorable, she almost looks pasted into the drawing afterwards. I had trouble seeing the evil guy until I went into small view. Then he was easy to see, even after I went back to big view. Funny how eyes act sometimes.

This is very beautiul. I'm glad you haven't made the evil tree guy more obvious. I didn't immediately see him, but then suddenly I could (and that was before reading your comment). I love how this appears to be such a lovely, serene scene; while having those subtle sinister undertones.

Glad you like it, Carole. Thank you. I always liked the "hidden pictures" drawings, and dabbled in them on occasion. Regardless, hiding sinister and/or brooding faces in things seems to be a part of my soul--maybe it's how I view the whole "Deus Ex Machina" issue... --Faile35

You're welcome. The hidden elements make me think of how we create our own demons and phobias and project negativity on our surroundings. While the natural world isn't exactly benign for man, we're often the most malignant element in it. Right, time for me to shut up

I still have not got time to go back to your gallery for a closer look But your ink drawing posted today is a beautifully detailed wrk That must have taken you a long time with all those lines...everywhere, including in the flowers The nymph is so pretty in contrast with the evil looking tree. Yeah, it is not hard to spot, I see an evil man at the top of the tree Good ink drawing!
