If you're following this series in order, click here next . For more information on the entire series, read the "'Demon's Due' Defined" journal entry here faile35.deviantart.com/journal... or the "'Demon's Due' Plus" journal entry here faile35.deviantart.com/journal... .**************************************************************
Unable to use her fingers to pry the ropes from her upper arms, Valerin grows more desperate. As the scrambling mob of gremlins ties, pulls, and cuts away in an ever-growing flurry of activity, the warrior-woman leans forward to try and allow the gremlins' own labors to pull the coiled nooses from her arms. Too late she realizes the move is a mistake as the intertwined cords at her elbows and forearms pull against each other with the gremlin teams' efforts, cinching her arms and wrists tightly together.
**************************************************************
Valerin was drawn using the awesome references given me by photographer *Viator-Defessus and model ~catchan . I've got a few more of these massive gremlin-mobbing images that take me a while to complete. And, for those who are concerned, the answer is "Yes, I am getting very tired of drawing the little menaces...
Enjoy!

Is the rat an observer or did he provide transport for one of the officers? He looks tasty, by the by.

Lots goin' on here, Jeff... Nice work! I dig the angle and amount of movement. She's wearing entirely too much clothing, though... I'm glad its being torn off

Thanks, Doc! Lots more clothing-less images in the chapter, and the other ones are in fast decline.

Awesome! So much activity here from those industrious little gremlins - Valerin's expression is, as ever, amazing and I love the gradual denuding here...
For what it's worth, however tired of drawing them you might be, these gremlin-mobbing scenes *are* stunning!

Thank you for all counts! I also like the way they look, when completed--it's why I spread them out between doing other, simpler pages. I've still got a few of them on the way.

Strip the blond and bind her tight;
Cinch the ropes with all your might;
Then drag her below where it's dark as night;
Gremlins RULE! Gremlins RULE!
Gremlins rule in the dun-geon!

Now what tune is that sung too?
π: 0 β©: 1
vvvan In reply to Skytower [2013-06-27 17:26:25 +0000 UTC]
It's an original melody written by Jarvis (aka Rat Boy). It's not widely know beyond Dark pop-culture, but Jarvis plays in the popular Hyperborean Heavy Metal/Grunge fusion band "Fermented Gryphon Vomit." (The name loses a lot in translation. It's very cool in GlΓΌkSpeak.) Anyhoo, in addition to writing most of their songs, Jarvis plays bronze harpsicord, electric dulcimer, and cow-bell.

Funny you should mention that. The Gremlin war-cry "Splætgwëtjk!" actually translates as "More cowbell!", or, more accurately, "A preponderance of cowbell would be considered commodious!"

You have to really admire the little guys. For critters who can't speak, their command of English vocabulary is truly exceptional, if often overshadowed by their other useful skills.

Like I said to ~ralphwiggum95 above/below, it's not like I'm going to quit drawing gremlins before the story's done and done right. I figure that, including shadows and partials, I've accounted for 185 gremlins in the revision pieces, and I'd think I'll top 250 before I'm done. That should easily put the gremlins at the top of the "bad guy" pile in Demon's Due, at least for appearances...

Whoa there killer, just how much skin are you planning to show here? A little wrist is no bigs, but some shoulder too?? Better dial it back cowboy, this might be a little too saucy for DeviantArt!
Tons going on here! Easily one of the most dynamic of the revisions!

Oh crap! When you said "lots of details" you weren't kidding, were you? The look on her face is just exactly perfect, she's still angry and not quite yet panicked ... and dare I say it, that hint of bared shoulder is way sexy. Okay, this is just really great. Thanks! Love the little guys going after her gloves, for some reason.

Skytower In reply to erick288 [2013-06-27 16:19:21 +0000 UTC]
I agree, the division is good because it's obvious that it's been planned with some gremlins in charge of ropes and some in charge of cutting her clothing away.
I just had a weird picture in my mind about a meeting or a briefing session where a king gremlin is calling out "Ok, you guys in Group B I want you on ropes, Group C guys get that armor off and Group D guys you cut away the clothes."
And of course there always some gremlins in one group that want to join the other group.
Gremlin 1 grumbles "I had armor last time, I wanted to do some roping."
Gremlin 2 "What are you complaining about? I got ropes and if she falls the wrong way I'm splat!"

pureimmanence In reply to Skytower [2013-06-29 04:22:35 +0000 UTC]
Leave it to the gremlins to grumble. I mean, really now! They're being asked to bind, gag, and strip a hot woman and all they can do is complain about the risk of being smashed! Sheesh.
