In growing panic, Valerin realizes she has no moves left. The ropes are pulled tight in all directions by teams of snarling, grunting gremlins, and the choking lines around her throat are out of reach. As she sways in futility on her knees, she sees her attackers tipping over her lantern and dragging it away. The dimming and failing of the light seems to be a signal of the warrior-woman's total defeat.

Thank you! I think the idea is that she is ceasing her fight only the instant before she "goes down fighting," in part because she realizes things might get a lot worse for her if she's unconscious while in the little monsters' clutches.

Okay, I've been waiting for the lantern ever since you alluded to it a while back ... great touch, I thought maybe you'd forgotten but glad you didn't!! Β And there are an awful lot of gremlin eyes just watching; this kinda seems the point where terror is really finally justified, even for Valerin.

Love it! Β Noticed one tiny thing though ... in image 41 she's wearing a belt, yet in these few ... it seems to be gone. Β But more importantly ... does this also mean you've resolved the stud vs. no-stud dilemma in favor of no studs? Β Just wondering!

Hmmm. As I recall, the belt was part of her studded leather skirt (I can never remember the name of that piece of armor). The belt came off with the skirt it was part of. I don't think I've ever intended to draw her with two belts, so if you notice something like that again, please point it out so I can fix it in the future (which I will definitely do on Page41).

I'll definitely say something, though I hope it goes without saying that they're in no way complaints! Β I only mentioned it more because I had this vision of you noticing it a few weeks or months from now, and asking us why the hell no one spoke up!
