**********************************************************

Barely eighteen, and vowing to leave her name behind, she had been vulnerable and alone in the southern city of Port Sessen. But the inner anger that seared her also warned away those who threatened her as the young Avora arranged passage on a vessel out into the Weeping Sea. Her eyes were set far from Dernhem and the ruin initiated by Maladyne, and from the cycle of blind faith and hope they embraced.

Avora recalls the wind that carried her south and east beyond ken and care, and she remembers the first real glint of hope rising within her as the sun rose above the fading harbor of Port Sessen. Perhaps there would be the chance to rediscover self, a place in which to redefine life and embrace it with all the sharpness of her mind and the passionate power of her will. She recalls thinking even then that the journey to such would be an inner one more than the transport she sought beneath sky and over sea.

**********************************************************

As ever, Avora was drawn with the references provided for me by Viator-Defessus and the model "Ava." While some people may get sick of reading this, I really don't get sick of writing it.

Enjoy!

Note: Twisted Plot and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones this kind of treatment toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.

Cool city-scape behind here there. Too bad nothing this hopeful ever turns out as well as one hopes!

Thank you, thank you.    And Port Sessen does, indeed, look like a veritable tourist mecca.  I bet the waterfront has many excellent taquerias, fish & chip stands, and semi-reputable drinking establishments.

Say, are you willing to sign my petition to have Malcom the Meereenese Meerkat added to the roster of Demon's Due recurring characters?  With his thirst for vengeance, squirmy little body, dexterous Meerkat hands/paws, and knot-savvy sailor's background, Malcom would be a really good nemesis for Avora.  (Not that Avora needs another nemesis.)

Nonsense!  There can never be enough nemeses!  (Although I personally would prefer "nemesi" as a better plural for nemesis.)  Suffice to say I'd happily sign the petition, and might even consider a write-in vote for Malcolm the Meereenese Meerkat come November, as well.

You mean the guy with the triple comb-over with orangutan arm-hair extensions?

When I saw this image I had the same GOT theme flash through my head as vvvan below, but his take on it is way funnier than mine would've been. Definitely like the Port Sessen background here

Hey, I thought I made the posting below as a reply.  Curse you deviantART, and your shape-shifting code!
Anyhoo, thanks!

Remember, vote for Malcom the Meereenese Meerkat to join the Demon's Due cast, and vote often!  If Trump can win the first debate (like the "polls" said) than Malcom can have his revenge on Avora!

Looks like there is some interesting world-building incoming while Avora looks back to days of hope (maybe) and more modest attire.

"the canvas can do miracles..."  Thats what scares me to death.  It like having a dream of a beautiful woman on top of you, as you pull her down to you to kiss her, a demon face appears to devour  you, then you wake up saying  " boy was that bad or what?"  As you roll over to face you wife you are shock in terror cause there is that demon face

Like the Duomo in the background here - and, while I might prefer Avora's 'usual' attire, this is a very moody look and totally appropriate.

The wind filled the sail and the knarr began to pick up speed, but Avora knew she'd never catch up with the Greyjoy, Dornish, Meereenese, and Tyrell fleets.  She'd already missed the closing shot of the previous season, and now she was gonna be late for the actual invasion of Westeros.  What a bummer.  She would have looked great standing next to Queen Dænerys and cute little Tyrion on the bow of the flagship.  Bummer.    Maybe she wasn't cut out for GOT.  Maybe she ought to find a role in another saga.

"Maybe you ought to become a nun," a passing sailor suggested.

Avora considered turning the sailor into a mongoose, but decided to ignore him.

"Seriously," the sailor continued as he coiled a length of rope, "you already dress like a nun, so—"

ZAP!

Avora returned her wand to the secret wand pocket of her ebony, raven's-wing-black, and in no way nun-like cloak.  The knarr had lost a sailor but gained a Meereenese Meerkat mascot... named Malcom.

Actually, I've only seen the first eight episodes of that series--when I read "GOT" I tend to think first of "Galaxy of Terror." But Avora would look good with a little meerkat familiar, I think. Especially if it could talk...

"A little meerkat familiar"...

...yes... Malcom the Meereenese Meerkat would be an excellent familiar for Avora.  He'd be subservient and cute and the perfect comic relief...  all the while working on his hidden trove of hand-braided rope and cord... and adding to his collection of exotic bird feathers suitable for tickling naked, bound & gagged nun-wannabees.  Malcom would bide his time... bide his time for years... until the stars align... and then he would strike!

Can Malcom talk?  Yes, Malcom can talk.  But does he choose to talk?  Snappy comic banter with a stereotypical Meereeneese accent?  Yes, of course.  But he'd hide his sharp intellect and thirst for vengeance behind the mask of a furry little clown.

Considering her modest clothing, at least she must have found her nifty bikini bra outfit on the southern beaches, but also some balls of steel to wear it, once returning to the harsh northern weather.

Yeah, we'll get to see some of how her attitude about those things develops, and where the balls of steel come from.
