Description
Fun fact:I based his design off of a real-world cat I had in my neighborhood growing up. The cat was a big black cat with giant ears that my mom nicknamed 'Bat-cat'. He was also one father of my cat's kittens. (There were three fathers. A white cat we never named, a scarred-up orange cat named 'Guedo', and Bat-cat.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a town very far away, there was talk of an old black cat with long fangs and brownish accents who'd appear any time you said his name five times. In the slums of Chicago, where a grad student named Helen began looking into the alleged cases of 'dangerous animal attacks'. It was said that 'CandyMeow' was a cat that lived in the area long ago. His owner, a blonde woman, was seen as guilty of 'witchcraft' and burned at the stake. Meanwhile, CandyMeow attacked the group to save his owner's life, and was killed for allegations of him being the woman's 'witch familiar', as many black cats were.
Helen was skeptical, until she came across a group of black cats who attacked her in an old run-down building, the leader of which was supposedly 'CandyMeow'. Because of this find, local animal control chalked up the attacks to groups of rabid cats. But Helen afterwards came across the real CandyMeow in the flesh. CandyMeow immediately started purring and rubbing against her leg. Turns out, he survived and continued his line until the current CandyMeow. The one leading the earlier group was simply using the title to get a group of cats behind him so he could more easily defend his 'territory'.
Helen felt bad for the stray feline, and despite struggling to pick him up, brought him into her car and drove off with him. She adopted the feline and got him his beloved prosthetic leg. Sure enough, Helen's husband and his mistress ended up dead, and they pinned Helen for it. CandyMeow obviously did it, having realized Helen's husband was cheating on her and did it to get revenge for his new owner. CandyMeow, as much as he tried, couldn't get the officers to believe he'd done it, and Helen was taken away. Thankfully, though, it was ruled as a crime of passion, so Helen's sentence is far lower than one might expect. Heartbroken, someone else took CandyMeow in, Anthony McCoy, who quickly realized CandyMeow was far, far too much for him to handle. CandyMeow always wanted attention and would simply sit or walk on his paint canvases.
Anthony's obsession with CandyMeow's line, the violent paintings, and the actual violence made Anthony realize he was in over his head. Thus, to dissuade any further suspicion that he was the killer, and to get away from his growing obsession, he sent CandyMeow to the Slashercat cafe. Helen eventually ended up there too, after she appealed and netted the last couple of years as a free woman on probation. Because of this, she could not get a job anywhere else but the cafe.
CandyMeow is affectionate, clingy, and has pretty separation anxiety. He chilled out on the violence after coming to the Slashercat cafe, especially after Helen started working there. Though he will get aggressive if he sees anyone bothering the staff (Especially Helen), or if any of the 'problem characters' drop in. (Dr Loomis, for example.) He is the one cat in this damn cafe who acts and looks the most normal. He's very lovable, and very hard not to like by... anyone, really. The only ones who don't like him are Freddy and Chucky, but they hate everyone, so that's not a surprise. Most of the cafe cats try not to fight him due to his prosthetic, which could easily kill one of them. When Helen leaves the cat cafe, he sits at the front window and waits for her to get back. Funny enough, a hive of bees moved in behind the cafe after he arrived, and CandyMeow is the only one who can get close without getting stung.
