I always felt bad for David....i mean if the others hadn't treated him like their prisoner I keep thinking he wouldn't have turned out bad. Granted he is still kinda an ass....but he'd just lost his family and instead of empathizing with him all they did was throw everything up in his face. No wonder he went nuts. XD

that pretty much sums up his character. btw, Cassie: I love her! But its such a same that the book series stopped.

I don't really think it was his character so much as it was the others that pushed him that way. I mean he had just lost both his parents, almost lost his life, found out about an alien consperecy. That's a lot to take in, and instead of trying to help him cope they treat him like some kinda prisoner of war. And the way they talked to him sometimes too....it's no wonder he went over the edge. O.o
I hated Cassie though, Rachel is my fav. XD

I like all the characters because they have such good qualities and bad ones (responding to why you hate Cassie). Marco was always my favorite, though; when you combine humor with tragic backstory my heart is immediately captured forever. But theyβre all deeply flawed, and more so as the series went on. I kinda feel like Applegate intentionally made Mary Sues so that she could tear them all down with reality, and I live for it.
As for David . . . I dunno, the Animorphs also had all this crap thrown on them and had to learn it all on the go. I think part of why they didnβt like/trust him was that theyβd learned all this stuff through hard fighting and whatnot, and he just showed up and tried to boss them around. Donβt get me wrong, I think they handled the situation badly, but I can cut them a lot more slack than him, because he got murderous and psychopathic, which isnβt excusable to me by any means. (Iβm always going to be appalled by what he did to Rachel, and I have a near-impossible time forgiving that one.) I donβt know how to word it the way I want to . . . they were wrong, but to me David is still the βbad guyβ in that situation. Does that make sense?

Because I view her as too much of a hypocrite....though I guess it's about the same reason why you hate David. I don't really like her talk of there has to be another way and all her tree hugger stuff. While she is complaining about it the Yeerks are still killing and enslaving. About the only thing I like was when she made friends with that one Yeerk. lol

Good reasoning. But Rachel isn't my favorite either.Β To me, she a bit of a show off, and a little cocky. She jumps to conclusions, and she's the reason why they get into half the battle that they do because she sparks the nerve of the enemy. The only times I admired her is when she had Marco on his knees begging for mercy over her superiority.

IKR? Xd But one question still bugs me. Why did the Yeerks want to take over the universe in the first place? Their pretty much slugs, that can be squished underfoot. Β

I think they wanted bodies. The more people they conquered, the more slugs were given senses and mobility, and the more their species could thrive and expand. I feel for them, though I obviously wanted them to lose. They had a crappy lot in life.

Power. I mean yea they are just slugs, but it's the power to take over other creatures that I guess makes them feel domanent over other beings as well. It's like once you get a taste of a little power it's never enough. XD

lol, yeah, and there's more douchey expressions to come! To be honest the "stage directions" you provided in your script helped a HELLA LOT and did most of the layout work for me.
