Description
Mini review:Like many others I got the possibility to test Office 14 today. The installation took quite a while but it was worth it. Even though Office 14 preview might seem a lot like 12 I can confirm there are a lot of differences. The first thing that surprised me was the awesome animated splash screen, it's really a nice touch. The office button serves a different purpose now, it openes a sleek looking screen which you can see behind the word window, it's still a little glitchy. The interface is quite boring, but I noticed that there could be 2 new color schemes for office apps in the further betas, so it's not a big problem. Overall there are numerous feature changes and fixes, it feels like the good'ol 2007 but it's better now!
Comments are welcome!
P.S. 7127 - not worth downloading, believe me.

I personally think Office 2010 looks like shit at the moment, your theme would fix that up mostly.
And my are you using vista? Its like $40 to upgrade to Windows 7....

Just letting you all know, in Office 2007 you can change the color from the annoying blue......

I like the fact that the office button is a different colour for each office app and the transparent area behind the tabs. I did kinda like the blue in office 2007 though, MS made it a lot neater in paint and wordpad in windows 7.

Would it be a bad idea to uninstall 2007 and use this 2010 Technical Preview instead?

Hmm, dont know, I installed 2010 side by side with 2007. I did encounter some small bugs, but nothing serious that would affect work.

Ah that'd be nice, can I just install it side by side? Or do I need to do some magic trick ?

Not sure how I did it but i think the installation offers do not uninstall 2007, and then i installed it into a different folder. Can't guarantee it will work well though

Yes you can,
when you install the 2010 preview, you don't upgrade the office system, but you choose for custom and you select *keep the previous version of Office*
I've installed it also side-by-side, no real bugs untill now...

I've downloaded and installed Office 2010 on W7 RC and it works fantastic! It's got faster loadtimes and I think it has a better overview...
Untill when can you use it? November 2010 or something like that?

What's wrong with 7127 (I haven't tried any Windows 7 build yet).
But the new Office looks much cooler. MS Word doesn't have a blue shade, YES! I HATE BLUE!

Didn't see any difference between 7127 and 7100.

And, how is it, more stable and faster than 2007? It seems that Aero stuff is more extended in the Ribbon tabs if i see that right ...

concerning 7127: for me the build was necessary because a blue-screen problem was solved.

Not too sure that I'm a fan of the white used in the Ribbon, although I do like the fade from glass effect.

I'm getting an error when I run the installer:
"The installation of microsoft office 2010 requires that msxml version 6.10.1129.0 be installed on your computer. Install the component and re-run the setup.Correct the issue(s) and re-run the setup."
When I download and run that version though, it says I have a newer version installed already and have to uninstall that version first before installing the 6.10 version

i acutually uninstalled the new version of msxml and then installed the 6.10 version and it worked. It seems pretty cool but the only changes I see are the faster load times and new interface. Are there any other important changes to office

I DESIGNED these 2 icons entirely in word 2010: [link]
So you can't say that it doesn't have anything new.
