WindowsXP to Longhorn (mini) tutorial 
-Updated and revisedThis is my second tutorial but this time to longhorn. Longhorn is a alpha operating system that was created long before vista, it was never released. The 1st. build of "Vista" was 3646 (Lab01_N(portbld).020612-1346) Milestone 1/2 till 5099. From build 5099 Vista Beta 1 has came. Longhorn had much more visual effects then Vista now [link] , a lot of people were disappointed about that, so on joejoe.org

Hi FediaFedia! I like your vista, and longhorn from XP tutorials! I see software that I have not even discovered myself. Others I have heard of (like visual task tips, WinFlip, and Border Skin). I would have commented on your vista page but something says you don't allow comments for that deviation. Anyway, since you talk about it a lot, I would suggest including Vistart and ViOrb and Visplore to tutorials that make them look like vista. Also, if you haven't already done so, make a Windows XP to Windows 7 tutorial, a Windows XP to Windows 8 tutorial, a Windows XP to Linux tutorial, and a Windows XP to Mac OS Mavericks tutorial. Thanks, everything in your gallery is very good. If you haven't heard of visplore, it's just an emulated Windows Vista Explorer.

Windows Longhorn and Windows Vista are not the same, Longhorn had a different codebase. They had to use the one in Windows Server 2003 because they were using the one from the 2001 Windows XP.

I've heard that Longhorn was actually based off of Server03 as well, but a release candidate version of it, not the final (With service pack? Can't remember! 
Vista was longhorn risen from its ashes like a phoenix.
Sure, they have different codebases, but they're both Windows 6.0, and you can't deny that Vista absorbed many of Longhorn's features.
The "Longhorn Reset" is what led to Vista.
And although Vista is my favorite Windows version (I actually have it as my only OS now) I still love Longhorn and find it fun to toy with and see what it can do.

Maybe. It's probably Vista Basic they don't like. I wonder if the popular Windows Vista version is Vista Ultimate, because of Windows Home Premium Features and ultimate extras? I have to admit DreamScene is pretty cool.

Can u fix that lol i dont have the orange progressbar and i just replace my windows xp ntorkrnl.exe background to longhorn
and also the error checking
btw i dont know how to move the progress bar x y or Position its easy if its from logonstudio skin
and the Longhorn PDC is from LTP or from windowsX

Just edit the 4>1033 image in ntoskrnl, that is the progressbar image. You don't have to move it.
Glass toasts doesn't have anything to do with LH, also it's buggy and may crash explorer.

I used this to make my vista look like Longhorn..
Most things work.. the only thing was the skin (duh..) so i used the one from VG..
