Description
This is VERY OUT OF DATE - but I keep it here for the sake of records. The species is now called SIDERIAN. See my newer posts - www.deviantart.com/felisglacia…
Study of the basic gaits of my original species the cheederian; a felinehybrid (Oriental cat, cheetah, panthera) with the size of a horse. So no, they are NO wolves!!!
I have studied walking and trotting cats (on a treadmill :giggle) and running cheetahs on youtube...yeheah youtube FTW. As if I'm not bionerdy enough I've figured out a matrix formulae by the gaits; I was only to lazy to figure out the formula for the galop...I've only drawn the circles; which indicate he position of every leg (because the legs make a rotary motion) above the ground (the horizontal stripe).
I've used the characters Jay (walk), Stian (trot) and Noiro (galop) as examples. It may be clear that Jay is Stian's son XD

Yeah, I remember I once dived in to this, I discovered that those circular, sinus movements were actually explaining the patterns of gaits Oo. That was very interesting 8D

haha I've also once wondered how some of my cheeds look if they were a human...Stian like a longhaired metalhead from Norway...Goran like a punker XD haha and I've once seen already a human-Falky on Utrecht station Oo...

Great work - I love how each character's gait has certain characteristics - love how Jay's shoulders move as he walks, and I like how Stian's trot looks to be low and gliding, yet still very powerful <3

Thanks! Wow I'm glad you can even see in this sheet how Stian walks; indeed low, gliding and very powerful. Ha yeah maybe you can use this sheet as example if you want to draw a running Krovendrakk? Or do they move in another way? (...I stil want to read all the details in your reference sheet

And perhaps I will do a study of how they move at some point - pretty similar to cheederians but with a few variations ^^
Hehe, there's quite a lot of variation in the way they move though - Rhogir Kanvar moves completely different to Reiker Von Kriegr, for example - haha, the former has an almost shuffling gait with a lot of "rolling" through the shoulders, whilst the latter is extremely expressive with huge strides, massive elevation and an almost stiff, tense appearance

Ha the last one is actually Noiro (my other main character); Stian is the trotting one in the middle...If you take a close look, you see that the fur and anatomy differs. Stian has heavier legs and a tiger bodybuild, Noiro is finer, more like a cheetah. And Stian has more 'fur extremes' and a longer tail XDD

Thanks! Ha yeah it is a feline hybrid, but actually not a member of the felidae family. I have 'created' a new family for cheederians; metafelidae (a sistergroup of felidae), because their metaphysiology(the ability to use 'metaphysical' energy) and cognition differs too much from felidae XD

maar: OMG! je maakt er een heel boek van! je moet ook wat over de ingewnadn vertellen zoals vertering proces welke ziektes ze kunnen oplopen! maar erg duidelijk en mooi!

Nopes, Jay heeft wel een aardig formaat, maar niet zo groot als zn pa. Ik heb er inderdaad een boek(je) van gemaakt, maar niet uit gegeven. Het is wel in het Engels geschreven, dus misschien dat ik het een keer in uitgeef versie laat afdrukken bij een drukker. Zodat men het via mn DA kan bestellen ofzo. Hmm, ja dat is inderdaad wel een goeie om ook aan te denken. Ik scheer het vaak over een kammetje met felidae (cheederians zijn ook gewoon zoogdieren), maar gezien ze ook andere energiebronnen (fictief) kunnen gebruiken is hun afweersysteem anders en ook sterker. Wel een goeie om nog in detail uit te gaan werken

ja! maar geeff ze niet iets onmogelijks cheederians zijn ook gewone dieren zoals wij met hersenen en een hoofd XD ach! laat maar! hoewell... mischien hebben zij een groter brein en harde schedel voor kopstoten! dat hebben gewone katten ook! wat een harde denker XD
