APPEARANCE
Appearance
Just the very average not so impressive, but still rather handsome male. His nerdiness makes him come across as a little socially awkward.

Shoulder-height: 1,61 m

Physical description
His body-build is pretty average; slender and moderately muscular. His skeleton is not heavy but not fine either. He has quite a straight back-line and slightly longer front legs than hindlegs. Average sized paws and tail. He carries his tail rather low and straight down but with the tip pointing upwards.

His skull is round and rather wide and with a relatively large brain-case. Downward pointing profile with pronounced and broad chin. His fangs are oddly straight and nearly like vampire-teeth. Profile is slightly convex and without a ‘stop’ between the eyes. His eyes are very light blue, almond shaped and have an intense, focused look. His round leopard like ears point outwards and he often caries them folded a bit backwards (like in the sketch featured above), especially when he’s concentrated.
He has a double layered coat. It’s soft in structure and quite long on his back. All hairs are white at the base (’smoke’), blue-grey in the middle and black at the tip (’tipping’). The white-black degree differs. He has some tabby ghost-markings (broken stripes). Tabby markings on his forehead in combination with a husky like white face. Mane are short near the head, but very long around his shoulders, like a scarf. He has 5 dark stripes on his front-legs and 5 on his lower hind-legs, which end in a complete black area, followed by his white socks. Also five stripes on his tail and a black tip. He has a white spot on the backside of his ears.

Jewelry & accessories: He doesn’t really do jewelry and wearing anything but he likes to collect ecals and other things that interest him in leather bags that he made together with his friend.

Personality and mannerisms:

He is very curious and interested in almost everything linked to science, he is almost obsessed with it. Often very focused and concentrated on his work (whatever that may be at the moment). Often talks in scientific terms. Very intelligent and creative with scientific theories. Friendly but not very talkative, because he is often with his mind somewhere in his science stuff. Tristan could be pretty stubborn and prefers to do things alone or only with his best friend. He doesn’t like socializing much but bonds intensely with his best friend Jerald. He can be sometimes a bit difficult once he disagrees with something and if he’s not heard, he can get (silently) grumpy. As it comes to his friend and later mate, he can be a little jealous and processive. But otherwise, he is open for different opinions and likes to discuss different sides of problems – no matter what topics. He likes intellectual challenges.

STORY

Tristan was born in the northern Lakelands (Finland) in a relatively quiet area. When he was a cub, there were only some minor tensions between other competitors like humans and northern hyenas. His parents were rather strict with their cubs, which made Tristan rebel as an adolescent. He was too curious to stay in one place and left his family in his late teen-age years. He wanted to go to the biggest metacluster of the continent; Notochord (located in the Ural mountains). He had a strong interest in physics and in the metacluster, he could satisfy his curiosity better than on his parent’s territory.
However, when he left, he was still quite inexperienced with hunting and he couldn’t feed himself enough through the harsh winter. Stubborn as he was, he refused to return to his native lands. Exhausted and unable to react in time and he got nearly hit by a car. In a jumping-reflex, he tumbled tumbled down into an icy river. Wounded and weakened he was chanceless to get out. If it was not for a few very kind humans, he would have died. He was given medical care and released once he had recovered.
Tristan continued his journey to Notochord. Once he arrived there, he quickly made friends with an equally nerdy little guy named Jerald. Together they formed a hunting-team, but they still struggled to catch enough prey. The assistance of Adler, a guy who was quite involved in metacluster-coordination, helped them. Adler also brought them in contact with two other strangers, Rubi and Arto, who had just arrived. They had lost contact with their parents after an incident with humans. Their sister was shot dead and they had barely escaped. Tristan and Jerald became friends with them and they stayed together for a while. Meanwhile Adler regularly came with news about siderian-human conflicts in the Fjordlands and later the Lakelands; Tristan’s home-land. Once humans had shot a siderian not far form Tristan’s parents’ territory and there were several siderian attacks on human settlements. Tristan tried not to be upset about this, but his friend Jerald was.

At the same time, turbulence in the metacluster increased too. The current cluster coordinator, Nigras had been thrown off his position by his violent son Ferrus (Adler’s father actually). Ferrus had no mercy for competitors like northern hyenas, humans, arctians or ‘weak’ siderians. After Ferrus’ followers had harassed Jerald, they no longer felt safe enough to stay. Jerald suggested to travel to Mystery Mountain, after he had visited his family and human friend one more time. Tristan, Rubi and Arto were skeptical, but eventually Tristan and Rubi joined.

Their travel to Mystery Mountain was heavy and not without danger. Meanwhile, Jerald got more absorbed by finding out who these human-hating siderians were. A few years after they had arrived in Mystery Mountain, they found out. It was one particular Fjordlander who was behind all the attacks on humans. Tristan, Jerald and Rubi joined one of the meetings that his Fjordlander had arranged, to hear what he had to say. His speech was hateful towards humans and Tristan noticed how upset and worried his friend was. However, Rubi was convinced by the Fjordlander’s talking and later left her friends to join him. Now, all Jerald wanted was to go back to Notochord to see his old human friend again and even start a group to fight for harmony between siderians and humans. Tristan supported his friend and joined him.
They travelled by ship (yes, siderians make little wooden sail ships too!) to the Fjordlands, to walk back from there. However, once in MistFjord, Tristan fell in love with a sideress from the Lowlands (Germany) named Felina. The fire was ignited and he wanted to stay with her. After a painful goodbye, Jerald went on alone. A few years later, Tristan and Felina got a little cub named Finnr. However, there was tension growing between him and Felina. She had joined the fighting group that this Fjordlander had started up (the Fjordland Force), but Tristan didn’t agree with the violence. Eventually the tension became so much and he had no other choice than to leave and search for his old friend Jerald again.

He reunited with Jerald and together, they gained more ground with their action group named ‘co-exist’ that tries to spread a positive attitude toward humans. However, once the General of the Fjordland Force came with some of his followers to Notochord. Tristan and Jerald didn’t want this General to cause more trouble with humans here, since there was still harmony here. Fortunately, he left again without much turmoil.

After this tense visit, Jerald wanted to see his human friend again to see if he was all right. Tristan had a strange gut-feeling; something wasn’t right and he was cautious. His world turned upside down when Jerald got suddenly shot dead, like lighting in clear sky.

Tristan didn’t know what to do…he was heartbroken and his opinion about humans was a mess now. This hurt him so much that he could no longer join co-exist. Instead, he went back to his family land and later to his ex-mate and son. She had another mate now but accepted him back as a friend. He even joined the Fjordland Force and assumed a passive research-role. He tried to introduced a more nuanced view on humans in the Force, but with their hateful general, he failed. But when the General got suddenly shot as well, Tristan had the chance to bring forth his view. Finally, he had some influence and he didn’t give up his attempts to find a more sustainable balance between siderians and humans, without extensive violence.
