I think you can tell the linearts for this first pages were originally made with a Sharpie, so I wanted to keep some of that poor and rookie decision by not editing it too much (at least the anatomy is not that bad yet).
It just shows how unexperienced at comic making I truly was. Not to bash on the brand or anything, but this wasn't the right project, nor the right artist to use such markers 
Good thing I keep learning my lesson as the pages go.
Oh, and don't worry about the narrator of the original version, they are surely proud to know the characters are able to speak more for themselves this time.

Really? Well, the only thing both of them share are the characters and the tone, to an extent. Violence is not the main focus, but things will get darker as the story progresses.
Good to hear even those who are not familiar with the show can still enjoy the comic though
