Description
Today's hybrid is a hippogriff-like creature, it's based on a raven and a moose. The name comes from the words "raven" and "elk" (a European word for moose).

I wanted the design to be recognizable as part-moose without the antlers, so I've decided to base it on cow moose, as they posses other interesting visual traits unique to the species, such as distinct body proportions and the dewlap (fold of skin under the chin).

Ravelks are large scavenger animals, which inhabit boreal forests. These creatures are capable of living in harsh subarctic climates, they are omnivorous, but prefer carrion if it's available. When feeding on plants they select foods with less fiber in them.

The wings make ravelks capable of flight, but it's not the only use for them. Flapping those large wings in combination with ruffling neck feathers make for a good intimidation tactic, which ravelks often use to scare away any smaller predators in order to steal their prey.

Ravelks are mostly solitary, but sometimes they are seen in pairs or small groups. Adults of the species often hold a territory, but if the food becomes scarce, they may leave in search of another one. They prefer to scare off any unwanted intruders, rather than attacking them.
