Description
This week's creature is a bird-snake hybrid. This idea came as an interpretation of the winged serpents found in various myths and legends. There are many fantastic depictions of these beings and one thing many of those have in common is the bright feathering associated with tropical birds. It gave me an idea to use a less colorful tropical bird, a spectacled owl, to create a more of an elusive animal interpretation.

Strigiboas are owl-like creatures that live in forested areas. They like to fold their relatively long neck, making the head appear to connect to the body the same way as that of a regular owl. Thanks to its flexibility, the neck of a strigiboa gives this being an ability to observe the environment in any direction.

While strigiboa's head looks like that of a snake, the eyes are owl-like, allowing these creatures to see their surroundings well.

Strigiboas have no legs, but their snake tail has a similar function - it can hold onto objects, for example tree branches to let the creature sit on them.
