Today’s hybrid a mix of a giant kingfisher and De Brazza's monkey. The name comes from the two latin words: “simia”, meaning monkey, and “avis”, meaning bird.

Simiaves are forest creatures, that form small groups. They prefer to live in the swamped areas or areas near water. These beings have functional wings, that give them an ability to fly, which allows them to both effectively reach their food and avoid predators, that are incapable of flight or swimming.

Simiaves are omnivorous, their preferred food consists of fish, crabs and other small creatures, which simiaves can snatch out of the water using their front limbs while flying. They also eat fruits, insects, seeds, and other foods available in their forest habitat. When the food is protected by a hard shell, they can hit it on a rock or other hard surface to break it open.

Simiaves have great eyesight, which helps them spot their food, although they are incapable of moving their bird-like eyes, so they have to move their heads instead.
