Description
Phew. I've been working on this tutorial for the last few days and have just finished it! As it states at the top, it's more of a guide to improving your art skills more than it is a 'how to draw this specific thing' tutorial, though I might make some of those one day. Actually, I HAVE made some of those, but they're on my website!More Tutorials
Hopefully I haven't made any embarrassing typos or anything, though sometimes my keyboard doesn't notice me pressing keys when I type, so who knows. There could be a missing letter here and there.
So yes! I hope this helps someone out there!

Brilliant! I like that this guide is about drawing in general and that you address some of the silly ideas that float around, such as using references as being something akin to "cheating". Your art is always improving
Didn't notice any typos, but then I suck at that sort of thing, lol

I think those sorts of quotations about how using reference is 'cheating' and stuff were one of the main reasons I wanted to write a tutorial! I'd see people saying things like that, but wouldn't really want to just come out of nowhere to say "that's not really right!", and it's more likely to reach more people anyway if I submit a tutorial for a lot of people to see. Or something. XD

I know, just coming right out and saying it like that can really put people off and make them defensive. Plus, it's hard to step on toes politely even when you know you're right.
I think this was a great way of putting that out there without making people feel bad about having that misconception.

Thanks for the suggestions, PARTICULARLY on the anatomy books. Apparently, the one you suggested is rather limited, but now I have more of an idea what's out there!

I wish I could suggest more anatomy books, but I don't really know of many or how good they are...! I keep hearing about Manual of Ornithology: Avian Structure and Function, though that's limited to just birds and I don't have it (yet...!), so I can't say much about how helpful it is. I'm eager to find more anatomy books, though I've been fairly satisfied with what An Atlas of Animal Anatomy For Artists has offered me so far since the animals it does show relate to the sorts of things I like to draw.

Okay, I may end up getting that one anyway. Right now, I'm looking at the suggestions Amazon comes up with.
