This tutorial is invaluable, you have no idea how many times I've referred to it when I've needed to shrink down a pixel...I've struggled with this for years! I'm so glad you made this.
Not only is it well written, and easy to follow, but it's cute to boot! I love your tuts.

MSpaint does this even easier.
I expected it will be a tut on shrinking images... because they usually come out ugly.

MSP doesnt save transparencies though.
And sadly its just -not possible- to resize pixel art to a smaller scale and keep it looking clean.
When making something 50% bigger each pixel becomes 4 pixels etc. To make something 50% smaller...well..you'd need 1/4 pixels and they dont exist

Darn, this doesn't seem to work for downsizing...

firstfear In reply to Acaciathorn [2012-08-25 04:37:33 +0000 UTC]
no..pixels can only be so small . This doesnt rearrange your pixels into a perfect larger image it literally makes each pixel look larger. If it's 200% bigger each single pixel becomes 4 pixels etc. but you can't have half of a pixel so you cant really resize pixel art to 50% without it rearranging things and messing it up.
