So many things working against this concept. LOL. First, the idea of drawing that fugly "Son of Godzilla" version of the big G. It's not my favorite version of him, and it probably shows!Redmoon was a kaiju that needed a dramatic look. I could have went with his "Goliath" look from Diagoro vs Goliath, but he looks short and stout. Godzilla would kick him like a soccer ball. I did keep Goliath's electricity horn, but rather than have it just spark up, I went for an electric beam, to up his threat factor.
Erabus on the other hand was a straight use of Daigoro's mom from that movie, with very minor tweaks. I actually think she makes for an interesting kaiju, so I retained her basic look, rather than going with the weird "My Little Pony/seahorse thingy" from the illustration (img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20β¦ ). Β

I Don't Know Why Toho Kingdom Says That Erabus Was Deleted Forever of The Existence and It Wasn't Used For Other Film, Β‘Erabus Is Actually Daigoro's Mother, God Dammit! And Exactly, Some Monsters from Cancelled Films, Has Being Re-Used For Other Movies, For Example: Nessie, It Was Supposed To Be a Creature Like The Loch-Ness Monster, And It Was Used For Princess of The Moon.

I wouldn't mind if Erabus looked like that MLP/seahorse hybrid, but hey, thats fine if you prefer Erabus looking like Daigoro's mom. Also, nice job on the art.

Haha, oh wow, your Redmoon really chews up the scenery. It looks so much cooler and more dynamic than even Godzilla. I wonder, if they were really going to used the Daigoro vs. Goliath suits, they'd probably dictate the whole mood of the movie, so would it end up being a super childish movie for the really, really young kids? And then, if that happened, and Toho went ahead with Jet Jaguar vs. Megalon since this would BE the Godzilla movie for 1973... then that would... that would mean that Jet Jaguar would star in a movie darker and grittier (by comparison) than its contemporary Godzilla counterpart...

I seem to have forgotten to comment this one lol. Must have been a busy week.
So let's start with the background...and move to the foreground.
You made another really amazing city landscape here. Not quiet as dramatic as the Godzilla Retuns piece, but it is still really good. I really attribute the lighting on that Bagan one. This one invokes way more of a Showa feel. Its durning the daytime, and has the monsters towering over everything. Nothing even goes past their hips lol. Very Ultraman in style. Its a bit corny, but oh so warming to the heart too. Its that familiarity feeling. Brings back memories of being a kid and first memorized by these monsters.
I have already stated my opinions on your RedMoon revamp. While I do love it, I sort of miss the brutish thug like look of the Goliath suit. Grant it, that suit was far from perfect. The fact that the "hands" were permanently closed fists just annoyed the heck out of me. But I just loved the bulk of him. And I loved that rhino like lizard look. But, like I said, yours looks really good too. More faithful to the original drawings of the monster.
I can understand why you stayed away from the original drawings of his wife though. I tend to agree that the monster does not really fit the aesthetics of the older Godzilla series. An argument could be made that she does fit the modern understanding though. Her graceful look, which reminds me of the psychic Eve from pokemon, really harkens back to the graceful and clean looks of many of Gamera's later villains. Especilly Iris. But for a Showa movie...they really needed to go with Diagro's mother. She has an easy to identify female form for young viewers. She has meat and bone and is not overly suggestive and sexualized. She looks like a beast that could hold her own against Godzilla. At least for a little while 
So finally that brings us to Godzilla. I am not too sure when the movie was first proposed..but it sort of looks like you used the Son of Godzilla suit. Could be the Destry All Monsters one too. Hard to tell cause it sort of looks like you used the Godzilla pose from that DAM poster for a reference. Or the Son of Godzilla poster. Either way, it is a good and identifiable Godzilla drawing.

First, I find typing anything with my mobile device frustrating thanks to auto-correct, so kudos to you. That's dedication!
All in all you've given this a fair assessment and I have to say that as much as I think the Goliath design is fun (even with his club-like fists), I have a hard time seeing a suit of that quality being in a Godzilla movie. And seeing how the Godzilla series produced some goofy monsters too!
The suit I *tried* to utilize was the musukogoji suit from Son of Godzilla. Not my best rendering, most likely due to the fact that I find that suit repulsive, and probably failed to spend more time getting it right. LOL
Erabus, was a compromise choice. I used the mother kaiju from the Dogoro Vs Goliath film...but added ears from the illustration, as of all the stills online, I only see horns. She does have that mane of hair similar to the one in the drawing, and she comes off a bit more Godzilla-level in design than Goliath (just my opinion) so it was kind of an easy pass for me.
I think that the comments that allow me to feel like I have succeeded in my work is when people identify are able to see if I capture the tone/feel of the Showa era. I think it's harder to do, than say a Heisei spectacle (which I am slowly getting to), because you do have to turn off your logic whistle and include certain things like suit folds, spark-explosions, upturned ping-pong eyes and low detail environments with basic lighting. Fun as it is, it's almost a science in its own!

Nice work here; I particularly like how you deliberately made the "flawed" Godzilla suit, and the other monsters look like men in suits, but put a lot of detail into the environment around them - it really does look like a Showa film! Kudos!

I think whats most important to me is that I do keep the "men-in-suit" look in each piece I create. Especially when it comes to creating "never-before-seen" monsters. t helps me convince myself that they work with the existing kaiju as well! Thanks for the kind words!

The only major difference is that whereas the MUTOs try to create a colony of new MUTOs, Redmoon and Erabus actually have a child, called Hafun. Someone tries to steal Hafun and he dies in transit, causing his parents to go beserk.

But breaking the idea down to the basics is the parent monsters have kid(s), the kid(s) die, then the parent(s) go crazy

Nice work! Though personally I think your Redmoon looks a bit too much like Ghidorah with that long neck, but still looks good. Godzilla & Erabus look great, nice fight scene

Pretty awesome. Strangely, the concept of the two mating monsters is now part of the new movie with the two MUTOs. Maybe this was a minor inspiration for it.
