Description
Artwork, fursona, story, species sync, and altspec device are (C) ~foxstory 2011I have been meaning to make something like this for a long time, and I am glad that I have now done so. My fursona means a lot to me, and I now have a good description as part of my gallery. My fursona is a character in the story I am developing that also involves the fursonas of friends of mine. You can read more about the story in the first part here. [link]

Eee, cute character you've got here. I really have a thing about simple and natural coloured designs which are still able to make the character unique and personal, and also believable in the natural world. Really nice job designing him - I like the whole genetic side of his story. I'm a biomolecular scientist as a profession, so it's nice to see people incorporating genetics into art and such ^_^

That's what I noticed about you when I first found your account, that picture in the lab. (I just faved it). I actually re-discovered deviantART by looking for DNA graphics on google. So for me, science and stuff like that came before my art involvement. I just wanted to see how I could incorporate it. Thank you for the comment!

Oooh right That's interesting ^_^ Haha, it's nice to know there are other arty and scientific folks out there
I've always had an interest in genetics and molecular biology. I find it a very interesting subject indeed
Hence why my profession is in it, haha.
Hehe, awesomeness :3

Very detailed! I love your precision and accuracy on this. The only pointer I have is that the fox's body needs to be a bit slimmer, the legs too.

Thank you! I see what your point is, I did make the drawing kind of thick. I can work on that for my upcoming drawings.

Awesome reference. It's really well detailed. And all of the taxonomical information is correct.

Thank you! I looked up the taxonomy in the Integrated Taxonomy Information System, ITIS. I got the size and weight from Animal Planet's page. And about the flying thing, bald eagles weigh about 10lbs, so their wings can make enough lift to move that weight. That means that isolated avian DNA for wings should be sufficient in case my fursona wants to fly like Ronnie (AppleMutt), Keilidh (Keimagine), and Silky (PirateGirl-Tetra) already can.

Sounds about right with the wing part. So far as I know, avian bones are hollow primarily to cut back on weight so that it is easier for them to lift themselves off of the ground.

Hey! I don't really know what to say about this piece, but for some reason I really like it.

Thanks! I wonder if that reason is linked to my efforts to mix science and the story. I actually looked up all that classification info in the official international database. You should see the references of some of the other artists whose characters will be in the story.
