Alder's Prelude - Over Protective part 1 (color)This episode has Ashien taking her son to the park after the events with the TV. Now to try and explain things a little bit. Ashien didn't have the best parents. Most of her life she was a fighter. She has no idea how to be a mother. She's just going on instinct, and for her that leads to extremes.
This was all going to be one comic, but I chose to go with a two parter so I could go into more detail with the pictures. Look forward to part two where this concludes. I have a good one about his first word planned, but I wanted to get this story out first.
In this colored version you may notice some changes from b&w version. I changed the sound effects look and the placement of some speech bubbles. Nothing major really.
I was going to color Marshmellow as a German Shepherd puppy (my favorite breed), but I thought a Husky would be better to the name would match his light color. Also the blue eyes looks so friendly.

Just hope she knows to discipline li'l Adler when he does something wrong, instead of just sending him to his room...which does NOTHING. heh

First thing. Oh Yeah for Marshmellow now he looks absolutely sweet and cute XD in the b&w version he seems kind a sleepy and lazy while here we have a perfect example of happy and cheerful puppy.
You couldn't decide on Ashien's colors so you tried three different patterns huh ?? As far as my opinion is concerned the blue one from the middle panel looks the best on her.
Oh and the butterfly, Jeez in the b&w version it was barely few lines while here we have a beautiful living art, Great work with this one.
I also love the shading, you've made great work with it making the picture so alive and happy :-3 not to mention complex background... Jeez you add hell a lot of details in colored version I'm absolutely Impressed.
Oh one more thing, that sounds effect looks really cool. You choose kind of lighting theme for Ashien it suits her very well.
Nice piece of comic, as others could say. Instant Fav, but hey why go easy way if you can go Evil way.

Yeah Marshmellow is just cute as hell. You can see why Adler wanted to play with him. Ash LOVES cute things, but in her current state she thinks he looks a lil' TOO CUTE. Like he's hiding something.
What do you mean about the colors? If you are talking about the clothes. The clothes are different colors, because they are different clothes. Those events happen on different days.
The style is similar, because that's the style she likes. She lives in modern day Japan, but where she is from those styles are more commen. The last panel's background is based ona real Japanese park.
I did kind of go a bit overboard with the backgrounds, but I thought they were important to show how nice the park is.

Well I don't agree with going overboard with the background it looks really nice and only adds to cheerful atmosphere
Yeah, I'm not drawing this like other mangas where the person seem to wear the same thing every day.
Uh..., you're not going to have a Summer of Sam moment now are you? (That is if you get that)

Actually, that was a movie based on the Summer of Sam killer. It was a real man who was killing women. He claimed something about a dog telling him what to do.
