UPDATE: This image is rather old, but still relevant. With the recent release of Urban Legend in Limbo, people have already been spoiling who the mystery character is, which frankly makes me wonder "WTF, guys?!" Seriously, do you guys have any consideration for those of us who prefer purchasing our copies?While the wagoneers who downloaded Danmaku Amanojaku have the previlege of playing it on day one, those of us who are buying physical copies of the game have to wait an entire week before they get shipped to us, and that's not counting how long it takes to get to our doorstep. So much for pre-ordering.
If the rest of the wagon could be so kind, please surpress your urge to spoil things about the newest game. It ruins the surprise for those of us who buy actual copies.

Sadly it can be hard to avoid, because fanart, open discussion, announcements, and many sort of factors are out there to ruin the surprise of the new characters.
I can tell you I try to be innocuous about it for a long time on purpose to avoid spoiling those who've yet to get the game. You're right that people can be pretty inconsiderate of things like this, I myself am very much someone who hates spoilers as well, so I understand where you're coming from.
I myself give the Touhou Wiki a long time to translate the transcripts of the game after I get the chance to play the game, and I really have to wait a long time to see the endings translated, which I really always look forwards to seeing.
But mad props to you for your efforts on your part for helping support ZUN by buying his games, I can tell you that it's really nice to be able to own your own copy of Touhou games.

I know. Heck, I've had some people actually advise me to download the game before the game arrives. I've abstained from such practice, because it kinda ruins the whole point of buying them in the first place. Others have given me the idea of turning off my group watches near the release. I can see why, but then I'd miss out of some really neat art that isn't based on the new game. Morton's Fork, why are you so cruel?

Well, the point of buying the games is to support the creator, as long as you do that much downloading the game before-hence isn't the worse thing in the world considering we don't get the kind of accommodations the Japanese get, who get to walk up to a booth, pay, and walk home with the game, and in the language they understand.
I can see why people advise that to you, but there is a level of charm to playing the game once you get it in the mail after waiting isn't there? Too bad ULiL isn't even up on Akiba-Hobby yet, and when it does it will be way expensive. It's just not an easy process when you wish to wait on things like this.
For me it will usually take awhile to fit a Touhou fighter in the budget so I don't mind see the content there early compared to the main series, but supporting ZUN and Twilight Frontier is still a thing I think we both want to do.

I got ULiL off JBox. It was somewhere around $45 in total, because they're a bunch of greedy tossers. >~<
I agree, there's always the charm of waiting for it to arrive before installing. The wait makes it all the more worth it.

Anyways, this is specifically targeted towards Touhou-Organization this time around, hence why it's now featured there. People there were posting character art and announcements that describe who the the final boss of ULiL is.

To further drive home my point about the spoiler culture in Japan: Here's a series of 4koma based on Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom. Notice how the stage bosses are nothing more than silhouettes with the words "Stage # boss" or the like written on them. This was released today, mind you.

In all seriousness, I want this message to apply to all future Touhou games that everyone downloads but I have to wait to play because I bought it. I felt this exact same way almost a year ago when I bought Kishinjou ~ Double Dealing Character, and now Popfan's feeling that way because he didn't download a copy (even though he bought DDC as well, he downloaded it too).
The Station Wagon becomes a minefield of spoilers every time a new game comes out. Is it so bad that I ask that you hold onto them for a week or two? Just so I can be equally as surprised by whatever comes out of the newest game while still supporting ZUN's hobby?
