I, Molly Mountain, the famous biologist and explorer finaly found one of the most ancient creature on the planet Mobius that nobody before.
It was a long time I travelled all across the world searching after rare beings and now my dream came true.
First I met with the thylacines when I took rest in a deep, ancient forest. There was a big silent as I layed in my tent but then I heard a russtle and soft footsteps. I was curious so I peeked out and my eyes turned wide when I noticed some of these strange creatures those stood and looked around in the camp.
They were tall and thin, their eyes shined in the twilight. But when they realised they not alone they ran away. That time I decided I'll follow these beings and find out everything about them.

To be continue...

Hope you like it^^

*sigh* this is the hundred time I say, the indians were only a base I came out. The thylacine in my story is just an aboriginal mobian kind who live in the nature, respecting all being there.

so are they aboriginal or indian? Because you just said they were both

Furgemancs In reply to T-Weaver [2010-09-10 06:38:09 +0000 UTC]

Aboriginals!!!

T-Weaver In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-10 06:52:51 +0000 UTC]

Then why do you draw them with indian things?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Furgemancs In reply to T-Weaver [2010-09-10 07:10:35 +0000 UTC]

Because I wanted to design them like this. There's no rule what can I draw and what not

T-Weaver In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-10 14:34:39 +0000 UTC]

No, but you can't claim they're indian/aboriginal or native. Because they're none of those. They're just incorrect and insulting bastardisations of animals and people both.

BanOfHours [2010-09-09 02:59:40 +0000 UTC]

I think you might have meant "genders" instead of "genres" seeing as how they aren't different types of music or literature.

Ah okay, thanks for this correcting

If I may ask... what exactly do you mean by "Indian hair"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Furgemancs In reply to Nagisa-Varumiya [2010-09-06 11:33:33 +0000 UTC]

did you ever see a western film about indians/native americans? They had that kind of 'punk', colorfull hairstyle if I'm right^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Nagisa-Varumiya In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-06 22:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Real ones didn't. Their hair is usually black or dark brown and worn either straight or in braids/twists (basically not vey different from "mundane" styles, and modern people may wear a variety of different styles anyway). Some tribes' headresses were colorful but the hair itself certainly wasn't, and not what you would usually call "punk".

If you want to see Native Americans with what could be considered "odd" hair, look at some pictures of Hopi women. But I agree with TsukiDuki there, basing an anthro-version of an Austrailian animal on the Native Americans doesn't make a whole lot of sense to begin with.

Furgemancs In reply to Nagisa-Varumiya [2010-09-07 04:03:28 +0000 UTC]

*sigh* okay then its not native, just the base idea was on them. It's just my imagination, and my charas are look like this. Why is that a problem?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nagisa-Varumiya In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-07 05:14:54 +0000 UTC]

Imagination isn't a problem, man. You were just implying racial stereotypes. (It's not really a realistic base if you base them off of how tribes were portrayed in those movies, by the way. You realise that Natives weren't thought very highly of back in the day, right?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Furgemancs In reply to Nagisa-Varumiya [2010-09-07 10:14:38 +0000 UTC]

Listen, only the culture were based on a little, the respect to the nature etc. Never saw any movie about them, just read some book. That's all.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nagisa-Varumiya In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-07 13:34:51 +0000 UTC]

Whatever you say, I guess. But in the future, you should probably do some more research about real-life cultures before you base something on them, even if you only base things "a little". Prevents things like this from happening.

TsukiDuki In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-06 16:50:55 +0000 UTC]

So you're basing your ideas of Native American culture (which isn't even the correct culture in the first place if you're dealing with anthropomorphic Australian animals) on extremely racist views of the culture?

:/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Furgemancs In reply to TsukiDuki [2010-09-07 04:06:13 +0000 UTC]

Yes I basing my charas on them, it's just my imagination and I'm free to do what I want. And I must tell I'm not a racist, I just like the culture and thought it would be a good idea to make native mobians with a life like this.

Why is that a problem?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TsukiDuki In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-07 04:12:17 +0000 UTC]

It's a problem because you're using racist stereotypes to base your characters on.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Furgemancs In reply to TsukiDuki [2010-09-07 04:55:15 +0000 UTC]

No I not. I just built up my own tribe with some realistic base. If you not like then not comment.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TsukiDuki In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-07 06:00:18 +0000 UTC]

There isn't a realistic base in "western films," though. :/ The caricatures they paint of Native Americans in those sort of movies is demeaning and blatantly racist. There's no getting around it, by using westerm films as the backbone of your perceptions of Native Americans, you are using racist ideals.

Furgemancs In reply to TsukiDuki [2010-09-07 10:13:25 +0000 UTC]

It's too funny you get this all idea so seriously. It's just my imagination how my kind look like, but if you still bickering about this then its only your problem.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TsukiDuki In reply to Furgemancs [2010-09-07 15:21:08 +0000 UTC]

It being "just your imagination" doesn't excuse using racist ideals in it.

Wow. As always, your attention to details is superb. Most people wouldn't create a fictional species and document how they live, play, and work. I am very, very impressed.

I enjoyed what you did with the journal entries below them, too. Gives it a little bit of backstory, having a researcher describe the lengths that were taken to get the information.
