Description My best attempted photo of the total solar eclipse that happened today. I must say... photos like this are NOTHING like what you actually see. It was incredible, almost super natural experience. You see the sun's corona with your naked eyes and no extra equipment. As in... you see all the lines slowly waving around and not like this photo where it just looks like giant flash.

To think I just traveled about 6 miles north of where I live, parked on a hill, and watched this once in a lifetime event. The moment will be so dear to me. T.T

If you ever consider seeing a total solar eclipse, DO IT. What I was today is nothing like ANY photo I have seen of a solar eclipse. You have to be there to see it for your own eyes.

And it HAS to be totality and nothing less. Nothing drastic happened at the eclipse until about 5 minutes until totality. At that time, darkness quickly fell on the land. Once totality happens, you see the night sky with stars with this brilliant piece up high while the horizon is basically a late sunset in every direction.

About 30 minions prior to totality, the land seemed to pick up a slight reddish tint it felt like. Then about 10 minutes it was still fairly bright out but felt like everything was turning slightly grey/muted in color.

Someone asked if I noticed the temperature drop. It might have, but it was such a rush, taking in what I was seeing and rushing to take about 8 photos, changing exposure settings that I didn't notice anything.

I may end up drawing what I saw at the eclipse. I'm skilled enough that I might be able to reproduce something rather believable if I tried. We'll see.

nice job on getting a shot of the full eclipse! where I live we got so little of it that I didn't even realize it was happening until my brother pointed it out. I still took a few photos of what eclipse there was. (it looked like about 40% of it was covered? the sky/lighting kind of looked like stormy lighting but slightly brighter? it's hard to explain)

It was rather hard to explain, yah. But since I got to see it I can at least associate with what you felt was happening. ^^
