Description
Like all the gods Hermes had a lot of time on his hands when he wasn't busy running back and forth for Hades, telling Zeus how much he hated him or tormenting Eris as he so loved to do. So Hermes played his tricks, he passed the time entertaining himself by involving himself in the fleeting lives of mortals, bringing great joy or disaster for his own amusement. The Aztecs called him Huehuecoyotl, the Navajo called him Tonenili and the Norse knew him as Loki.

Hermes had always had a great affinity for wolves and other canines, the wolf was the first shape he'd learned to take after all, before even that of a man. His own sons where the fathers of the race so affectionately referred too as werewolves these days so it was only natural that he would also spend much of his time among them. It was during one visit, some nine hundred years ago that an idea struck him... it was always men who wore a wolfs skin, the 'curse' as men had come to call it passed on from his own sons to a lucky few, what if it was a wolf who wore a man's flesh?
Inspired he selected three of the pack's strongest, the most promising and granted them a gift, he gave them an intelligence and awareness, he made them so much more than mere animals and he gave them an idea... to find a way to walk among the men that hunted them.

And so Fenris was born, and of the three wolves, cruel, manipulative and petulant Fenris would always be Hermes' favorite.
