A self portrait painting of me. I think my brother took a picture in my basement some time during the summer and I used it as a reference. Got to love the colors though

What kind of style is this? :3 I really like your use of dark purplish colors! I'm admiring it, but I'm also scared at the same time. xD (Is that dark brown oval thing your eye? o.o ) I'd like to see the other paintings you've been making too!

Not sure what style, impressionism if anything lol. Yeah I suppose that would be my eye too. I'm not the best with eyes and noses, but especially mouths. The only reason this one looked good is because it was a messed up mouth to begin with lol. I'll get my other paintings asap

you captured the twisted nature very nicely, and the colors are violent, which might connote rage... i really like the surrealistic look too, reminds me a bit of salvador dali. ^_^

Haha I'm sure you can do something better with that! The key is, don't draw a face, draw shapes and just run with it. This has a lot of porportional issues, like the eye on the right is waaaay too long, but fortunately the style makes it seem cool lol.

Looks very intense artistically, and reminds me a bit to pictures from Francis Bacon I didn't know yet that you also paint in traditional ways.

Yes, well sort of. He went through 3 emotional states during his life. His early years were happy and thats when he did impressionistic paintings. During his late 50s and 60s he was having a horrible time coping with deaths and such as thus spawned the "Black Paintings" which were gothic and daunting in style. His last few years he spent painting realistic paintings of Spains royal family.
