I was searching through *jademacalla 's gallery for some stock for an upcoming gift piece (shh!), when I stumbled across this . I got an idea, started sketching, and 25 minutes later this came out. I kinda liked it, so I uploaded it here.Maybe once I have kids, I'll paint this on their bedroom walls and tell 'em that's what comes for them when they don't eat their veggies.
HB pencil on Strathmore 400 Drawing Paper. 25 minutes total.
*EDIT* I'm planning to re-do this one as an acrylic painting for my final project (open assignment) in my summer painting class.

Just remember to tell it to them when they're really young. I can tell you from personal experience that small children are extremely gullible. For example, you can point to the ground in front of a little fat kid and yell donut. 9 times out of 10 the will look down and be disappointed. I learned this one from boy scouts.

I get my sense of humor mostly from my mother. The nasty streak is more influenced by my old man who love lying to kids and confusing people. I'm more into making up words and "quotes" and trying to get other people to repeat them.

Wonderful image, it is very good story telling. I like that much better then just static characters.
I laughed at you putting this on the kids’ wall. I just threaten them with being duct taped to the wall to get them to eat their broccoli.
Just for the record I do not have any kids of my own but I have spent about 20 years raising other peoples kids.
