Description I finally figured out how to put a bg under coloured pencil art, but it looks weird if I do a bg in PS (consistency). Ah well, now I'll have to pencil out a bg for all the coloured pencil work I want to redo (Hog Wild and One Eyed Dwarf come to mind).

The bobcat is what I turn into after I haven't had Ginger Snaps for a while.
(This is also my one and only submission for Imagine 2006... this could be my break so wish me luck!)

4H, 3H, H pencils, Photoshop 7. 5 hours on colours.

You combo of traditional and digital is a lovely soft blend, not many people can do that, without one outshining the other. I love the more toony look you get with this guy, as with all your works, while still keeping a nice realistic base still.

Not bad. Again, though, I'd suggest adding some heavier shading to it. What I'd suggest (now that I know this is Photoshop, I can give specific directions) is that you take a big, hard brush set to 30-50% opacity, pick a dark gray, have a new layer over everything, including the pencil lines, and add flat shadows to him. Be careful you don't double over shadows. He'd really pop out.

The colored version is nicer still. Why didn't the thighs of the jeans rip too though? They seem huge!

I dunno, really... Maybe he just has a really big waist and really skinny thighs in his human form.

Nice work there! Great abs, too! The dark background works great for showing off his detail...you even did fibers in the pants! Excellent pose and expression, too. I would NOT want to be between this kitty and his ginger snaps.
