Description
Alright my first tutorial. Someone asked for a Photoshop tutorial, so I made one. And, because I know someone's going to ask the following:
"Why can't you use dodge and burn for shading?"
-That's because the dodge and burn tools are specifically designed for photography and monochromatic images. It's best to shade with hues and shades of the base color.
Just so you know, it's a huge file. Sorry about that. I didn't intend to make it /that/ big.
And... That thing I used in the tutorial, My Licentious Being, belongs to me. Don't steal it.

Dodge and burn are a highlighting and darkening tool meant to be used strictly for photos and photomanipulations. Not so much digital coloring. If anything it makes the colors more abstract and the shading far too soft from what would be natural.

There is a quicker way to outline, what you do is isolate your lineart.
*drak has a great tutorial on how to do this here: [link]

Hmm...I could use something like that actually. I have yet to figure out how to shade on a computer, and it shows. I'll download it when I'm on my own computer. Awesome Glennoar!

Hehe, awesome! There's really a lot of ways to color in Photoshop. I used to just do it all on one layer. Gawd that was a mess.
