Description
This is where it all begins! A lone echidna flees from danger through the streets of Albion. Props if you recognize the kid on this page.
Creating this first page made me appreciate how I've settled into drawing comics. When I worked on my previous Sonic comic for Sea3on , it took me an entire week to draw and colour one page. Older comics took even longer. But ever since I learned how to draw digitally, I can get a page like this completed in three days on average. With practice I'm sure I can get that reduced further. Maybe some day I'll post another tutorial.....

I like the way you started this story. I (personally) prefer to see WHERE the story takes place before any scene. I saw, lately the tendency to start a story directly with a scene of action, without even showing us nor the enviroment, nor the protagonist of the story or of the scene. There I can understand what's going on, unlike many other stories.

I always have troubles adding texture in the background, could you give me a tip about it?
I tried Overlay, but it seems too light colour to adjust. If you get what I mean....

For starters, I normally desaturate textures first so they don't affect with the picture hues. Second, Overlay isn't such a bad blending mode; I sometimes use it for background textures. You can also use Soft Light for a lesser effect or Hard Light for a strong effect. I rarely raise the layer opacity for textures above 40%. If the texture is still messing with the background lightness, just use the Hue/Sat menu (CTRL+U) to change the lightness of the layer.

You mean a CBR or CBZ file? You need the full issue for one of those, and you can easily zip the pages yourself if you need to.

Yeah, I'm not trying to point out the obvious, but shouldn't that kid be running away by dodging between buildings rather than fleeing in a straight line? Hard to think logically when you're running for your life, but still -- it's basic instinct to get out of sight.

What system do you use for your art? The reason I ask is I've watched some of your videos and it appears you can move things around without the definition going down.

I'm not sure what you mean by "move things around without the definition going down", but the program I use is openCanvas 5.5. It can record and play back your work the same way as an oekaki.

What's meant was, once you moved a character's legs so that it was directly under them and the HD didn't change. I really don't know how to explain it. I'm sorry.
