Description
[STH #222]: Sonic took Sally out on a date where they dined at a fancy restaurant, but they were constantly pestered over Nicole's status. Amy bought them some breathing room with her hammer, only for her to declare that Sonic will be his some day as long as Sally makes him happy now.
A little something to get all you shippers squeeing.
I've always been a SonSal fan and it's one of the few remaining pairings I harbour. However, I know there are plenty of SonAmy fans in the community and I don't want to feel like they're getting snubbed in this comic due to Sonic's preoccupation with rescuing Sally. Amy has always crushed on Sonic in the games and comics, but things never really took off from there. I felt that it's important for Sonic and Amy to come to terms with their relationship, which is why I included this scene where Amy has matured enough to express how she really feels about Sonic, and for Sonic to requite those feelings. Sonic is hurting without Sally, but at least Amy will always be there for him. This scene is dedicated to all you SonAmy fans out there. Enjoy!
Also, this scene marks the midway point of the issue and I need to take a short break. January was a terrible month for me creatively and I lost a lot of time. I'm going to take time off to focus on commissions and give myself more buffer time to prepare future pages. Page 14 will be uploaded here on March 11th April 1st as explained here . Stay tuned!

Well, he did acknowledge it was extreme, but yeah, it still was. And he overlooked a detail regarding Amy using the Ring of Acorns to age herself.

Yeah, he seems under the impression she used it selfishly...even though she had no idea they wanted to use it to revive Alicia Acorn. Amy didn't mean for that to happen.

Yeah; Amy did just want to go with the others, but it’s not like they made Alicia’s condition public. I wonder if it was ever pointed out to him before he closed his account. If it was, he never had the chance to address, or simply didn’t bother. Who knows?
In the games and Sonic X, she can be a nuisance, but in Archie, she can actually be a good character.

If only Sega or even IDW can make Amy this respectable. Not some stereotypical hyperactive anime fangirl. Also, I went back to the read issues 222-225 for a context refresher. I forgot that Sally was roboticized the day after they had their date. Really puts perspective on how both Sonic and Amy feel.

Probably one of your more popular pages. You did a good job of showing a moment without being overbearing, preachy, or out of character (as they've been established in the comic, at least) while showing a bit of development and- perhaps most importantly- giving Amy some much needed mental maturity.
A nice, feel-good page that still leaves the door open for those Sonamy fans while not betraying Sonic's obvious adoration for Sally. Good job toeing the line. We'll have to see how things develop from here, as far as relationships go.

I was thinking the same thing, also, how are.. they able to stay on the roof of the wing... because of lift and what not... o.o. This seems like a conversation that would happen in the cockpit or fusilage than on the wing...O.o Hedgehogs have grippy feet I guess.

An absolutely wonderful page! While I might be the staunchest advocate for Sonally out there, I do quite adore how this really has matured both Sonic and Amy's characters. Having them actually sit down and hash out their feelings, especially during this immensely stressful period for all the freedom fighters, is certainly refreshing. I'm looking forward to see what this will mean for their friendship going forward in the comic. I only hope that at the end of this, Sonic will finally be able to have a much needed happy reunion with Sally - but with all the machinations Robotnik has set into motion things certainly seem grim.

Awww, now this is character development. It's sweet without being cloying and gives a nice sense of closure for Sonic and Amy.
