We get a more reflective moment here with Sonic and Amy sharing their feelings. With Sally gone, do you think Amy might catch Sonic on the rebound?
I want to give a shout-out to my Spanish translator Flordeoro for supplying me with Sonic's "Always have, always will" line. She requested I add it somewhere in the script as a callback to one of her favourite SonSal moments from Sonic #125. I was happy to oblige her.

Aww, I kind of feel for Amy. She's always been supportive, even willing to let Sonic get back with Sally because as she put it in the actual comic, "I want him to be happy, and right now, Sally makes him happy." It's moments like these that make me wonder why so many fans fight tooth and nail over which ship is best. I mean, can't we all agree that both girls are pretty cool?
Also, I too noticed the classic Amy look in the ind. Nice touch.

Amy is a really cool character when handled by people who understand her. Ian Flynn has done so much justice for her in IDW.

Right???? He gets so much flack from people just because he likes Sally. What they don't understand is that he puts effort into EVERYTHING he writes.
Like that one time when Eggman said that Sonic was "just the weapon" while he saw Sally as the true heart of the Freedom Fighters (this was back in an earlier issue of the Mecha-Sally arc). People were furious, thinking that these were Ian's personal thoughts about those characters put onto paper. What they didn't realize that it was EGGMAN saying this- Eggman, who CONSTANTLY under-estimates Sonic and keeps wondering how he always fails. In one small sentence, Flynn showed us the REASON why Eggman fails. That's expert writing right there!

It's good to see Amy talking with Sonic about all this. They both have things they need to get off their chest, no matter whom ends up with whom in the future. Holding it all in, their suffering, their loss, their hopes, it isn't healthy and they both need someone willing to listen so they can handle themselves and the missions to come.

I'll admit that I am a Sonamy shipper but I can't deny that Sonic's heart belonged to Sally in the Archie universe. Still, I feel like they'd make a great match had he'd not fallen for Sally. And I find it weird how some people in the comments are saying that you're making Amy a better character when in the past, she has shown that she is willing to put Sonic's happiness before her own. Like in issue 222, where she defend Sonic and Sally on their date. She has shown that she is more than just a obsessive fangirl and I feel like people don't credit her enough for that. Anyways, can't wait for the next page.

Amy defended Sonic and Sally's date in issue #222, but it was only to protect their happiness and she believed Sonic will still be hers in the end. Maybe she's realizing the truth now.

Maybe so...still I think she would be understanding if he loved another, even if it left her heartbroken. At least she still has a chance in other universes, so not all lost. But going back to the comic, I think she's the perfect person Sonic can vent to as she is very compassionate in my opinion.

Doesn't quite work that way. You have to have some kind of an 'in' with the girl, ortherwise you're just a cheap gigolo.
See, with Amy here, she at least has SOME kind of history with Sonic. Enough so that she might be able to weasel in on him (no pun intended) when he's feeling particularly vulnerable.

I wish that in general Sonic and the cast would be more mature like this across all their medias. I don't know how to fully explain it but I wish the writers would make them less shallow, if ya know what I mean.
It just never happens anymore when they stop and just be humans being(I know they aren't but you know what I mean) and show emotions. Like for example I was expecting to have atleast a brief moment in Sonic forces where Sonic laments about how he let everyone down, that Eggman took over the world, probably killed millions of people. But it never happened, nothing emotional ever happened. It makes the character feel so uncaring to me when you avoid scenes like that. I don't know maybe it's just me.
So it's great when we see independent creators like yourself write the characters to atleast have these more mature and heart felt moments. It's almost refreshing in a way to see them expressing any form of emotion besides positive ones. I hope that makes sense. Like it is just refreshing to see Amy talk about her feelings for Sonic and it not be super over the top tackling him into submission, like this feels like how a real person would go about things.
So ya good work, with the diologue and drawing, the night sky is really cool, the air effects on the hair and coats.

I think that is not just the writers. I saw in a few places Sega has editorial mandate that is very strict, the main cast are not allowed to have immediate family (save Creams mom) or relationships above ambiguous friendship, cos they worry that will age the characters or tie them down and remove the adventurous spirit.
Basically...I think they are trying to turn Sonic more into a Childrens cartoon.

I guess that's true. It seems to be trending towards a kids kind of game franchise so I guess that makes sense. Still I would think kids should have some maturity in their characters. But hey I'm not a developer or publisher so what do I know? Thanks for taking the time to write that out though.
