Another familiar scene for Archie Sonic readers. Ever get that feeling you're being followed?
I want to give a shout-out to for the drawings in panel 1. I asked her if she could provide a couple of pics, which would serve as Cream's artwork that her proud mother hung on the walls. I think she did a great job. After this and the April Fool's page , MinaLovesArt is fast become a co-artist for Sonic Retold.

oh this page is gorgeous. i'm a sucker for rain effects, if you couldn't tell from my landscape commission. also legitimately creepy with the tails doll following cream. you nailed the atmosphere in that last panel. gives me a horror film vibe to it.

The creepiest part of this isn't that he's slithering around, but that he's following her.
At least her mother has an idea of what's going on, evidenced by the sweatdrops. I'm always shocked at her, though. She's the type of mom who trusts her young child not only to take on responsibilities as if she's intellectually capable of understanding them and their consequences, but to put herself in physical danger. It would be funny if you didn't make the situation here feel so serious.

I think that depends heavily on whether they're capable of doing so. The vast majority of children under the age of 10 aren't.

My point: Tails wasn’t even ten when he first took on Eggman, with help of course. And now, he has gotten so strong and so smart, that he even can give Sonic a run for his money on the battlefield.
Just because Cream is a kid doesn’t mean she’s not capable and her mother knows it.

But if Tails' parents have been present back then, would they have allowed their preteen son to involve himself in deadly situatons? The main reason it works out is because there were few to no adults to take the weight of guerilla warfare from the shoulders of their children. There WAS no one else. Now since the Robians have been restored it's an entirely different setting, but Tails would never feel comfortable being forced to sit things out due to his age at this point. It wouldn't be "fair" and the fans would have conniptions.
In Cream's case, there isn't any particular reason for her to put herself in harm's way aside from the fact that she signed up for the new Team...which carries its own flavor of confusion. With so many people in the city, are you really telling me that a little girl was accepted because "no one else wanted to volunteer"? In real life, not only would she have been gently shown the door, but her attempt would have been publicized in order to invoke shame on the cowardice of New Mobotropolis's citizens. The one and only reason for this stunt that I can think of is that because she was featured in the games, there was one of those infamous Sega requirements to shove her into a role where she didn't belong.

Im not sure why my mind is going to Stranger Things. Maybe cause I binged watched Season 3 recently and this is actually relevant to the monster they fought. Oh, Stranger Things X Archie Sonic crossover should be a thing.

The pics on the wall are just precious. It looks like Cheese is riding a horse (or a Streaking Pasha in this universe) and Vanilla has become a mermaid. God, I miss being a kid with crayons.
From the look on Cheese's face, he knows what's up. And soon, he'll strike in all his adorable fury.
And to top it all off, Cream is totally going to forget to brush her teeth.
