Well, look who's back! This flashback takes place before Snively's incarceration in SU #40, so he's still very much a part of the story. This page also shows in more explicit detail what I thought might be involved with Eggman's hatchet job on Mecha Sally.

Imagine being a living creature turned into an A.I. and get parts of your body torn off and replaced while you're still active... *shivering* Just thinking about it makes me drowsy and, as they say on cybertron, leak a little transmission fluid.

And to think. In the 90s and early 2000s they had all the baddies be robots cos they thought it would be less graphic to have robots torn apart and smashed.

Ok, I will list what I like:
* The Dark tone fits some of the older Sonic comics but now even more dark because you dont need to care about what Sega will say.
* I like very much the ideo of a robot slave Sally saga, if well written. As we saw, the official comics at Archie was a mess.
What I dont like:
* Change her look like happened in the official - first I think the original Sally's colors are much better and beautiful with the metalic tone. Second, make her look more like the original Sally could make the reader, her friends and herself remember even more what she used to be.
Now, my conflitant idea:
* I truly like Sally and Sonic as a couple, I think is the only female who trully fits him, however, I fell tempted to see she becomes a robot forever, and loyal to eggman forever. Why? Because a good girl becoming a villain is a big cliche, that nornally works, but I never read any story about a good girl, who becomes a villain and remained a villain until the end. Its a sad end for her, but the life have loses like that.
*Last point, what I expecr to see:
* If she is a machine, make her act like a machine to the end of this saga, loyal, without any trace of free will and totally silent, with exception of the classic "hedgrhog priority number one" or any important question that robotnik will make. Why? Because is what I expect from a robot slave, specially one who was a former mobian. On the official comics I start to hate that saga when the author made her speak normally as any other common villain.

I think this has to be the worst thing Eggman has ever done in his entire life! Kidnapping critters is one thing, making Sonic suffer’s another, but taking off body parts? That’s low even for him!

If he rips Sally's limbs off like that, does that mean it's no longer possible to deroboticize her? I would think deroboticization would only work if all the subject's original components are intact?

Probably the same as Jules. Jules Hedgehog was roboticized by his brother, Sir Charles because he had run the risk of dying from his wounds in the war, and Uncle Chuck didn’t want to see his brother fall because he was his only brother and he had his son to raise, and so roboticized him in order to help his brother cheat death, but cost Jules’ free will as the roboticizer was still a prototype at this point, and Eggman had meddled with it unknowingly. Even when all the Mobians were deroboticized, Jules remained a robo-hog because of this very reason.

I’ve reason to believe this could be the same result with Sally unless Uncle Chuck can somehow find a way to deroboticize her and give her limbs back. Maybe a little help from Tails, or perhaps she could end up like Bunnie, having robotic limbs in order to survive! Or perhaps the Chaos Emeralds and Super Sonic? If I recall, they have the power to bend the rules and save those at the threat of death, and if Sonic can use the Chaos Emeralds to reverse the Metal Virus in the IDW comics, what if he could do the same with roboticizing?

I think it would be interesting to see her have to overcome being a robot, you know? Like, what happened to her is a permanent scar but she'll still be able to live through it.

BTW, I was to translate the words to this aria:
Alone, lost, abandoned ... Cruel cruel Ah! Blood is stained No! I don't want to die.
Forgive me for being sadistic. But, this part of the aria fits rather well with this scene. I hope Eggman perishes to the tune of the "Comandente" aria from Mozart's "Don Giovanni". Because, he richly deserves to be sent to hell!!

I'm reminded of a passage from Screwtape Letters by C.S.Lewis.
We produce this sense of ownership not only by pride but by confusion. We teach them not to notice the different senses of the possessive pronoun-the finely graded differences that run from “my boots” through “my dog”, “my servant”, “my wife”, “my father”, “my master” and “my country”, to “my God”.
They can be taught to reduce all these senses to that of “my boots”, the “my” of ownership.
Even in the nursery a child can be taught to mean by
“my Teddy-bear”
not the old imagined recipient of affection to whom it stands in a special relation (for that is what the Enemy will teach them to mean if we are not careful)

Ooh, nice reference! I like it! Definitely brings some deeper meaning to this idea...that as humans, we bring things and even people down to this state of base ownership. Thus, we turn people into machines, void of individuality and existing only for however you wish to use them...
Kind of makes this roboticization thing feel symbolic, doesn't it?

It's heavily implied that she is feeling it. Her brain activity is spiking, she's just unable to vocalise her response.

Even if she isn't actually feeling it, I think there is still an awareness of what is being done to her. Pain does not just come in a physical sense, but it can also be emotional and psychological. Even if she doesn't physically feel it, there is likely a lot of psychological damage going on at having her body parts removed.
