Description
[STH #211]: Snively initially partnered up with Regina Ferrum, the Iron Queen, and conquered New Mobotropolis. But when the Freedom Fighters defeated Regina and liberated the city, a panicked Snively freed the captive Dr. Eggman and they escaped together.I got a slew of comments about what happened on the last page, and it doesn't stop here. I'm starting to think Eggman should have deactivated Mecha Sally before working on her.
And if you remember your Archieverse, you all know where Snively's devotion to Regina Ferrum landed him...VERSION EN ESPAÑOL

Okay, first, that first panel there is one of the most disturbing images I think I've ever seen related to the Sonic franchise. I seriously hope Eggman is recording this so he can play it back for either Sonic or the other Freedom Fighters. Bravo, sir, bravo. Second, this whole page effectively demonstrates the difference between a dangerous villain like Eggman and a Big Bad Pragmatic Wannabe like Snively. Eggy is willing to go all out, he'll use his last rings because he discounts the possibility of any of this coming back to bite him. Snively always has potential failure on his mind and seeks to either hedge his bets or make a fail safe to save his skin. Eggman is committed, Snively is an opportunist.

At this point Eggman is pretty much a well known sadist and we know he did "something" in order to modify Mecha-Sally. The emotional gut punch to what was already a known moral event horizon. Dark it is, but it fits the character and has already happened.
I think Eggman would, just on the idea that it would be bragging about how much he improved the original design while throwing Sonic off his game. This is the kind of thing he takes pride in after all. And it wouldn't really occur to him that Sonic would be able to fight through his anguish and deliver an even worse beat down on him.
Bet Sonic wishes he didn't let Snively take the rotten ol' egg home when he had that breakdown, huh?

And if Sally can't be saved...No we shouldn't talk like that! The Kurudzu plant Hybrid has regenerative properties. Apply that to the Derobotocizer and it should help.

I never understood this reply until now after having watched the whole Black Mirror series. Still, I'm not sure which episode you're referring to. Are you suggesting Sally be reincarnated as an android like in Be Right Back , exist through a computerised 'cookie' like in White Christmas or ascend into the digital afterlife like in San Junipero ?

OH wow! Was not expected a resurrected response to an old comment lol Really appreciate that. But to answer your question, its the premise to San Junipero. But the Be Right Back is an interesting idea as well. It would be nice parallel and call back to SatAM's"Sonic and Sally" but this time, shes a good robot.
However, San Junipero is more uplifting. In fact, its its the most uplifting episode of Black Mirror cause even though its depressing, its not horrifically depressing cause the characters were at peace. I just prefer the idea that shes no longer trapped into some type of shell of misery (figuratively and literally). And once she does join NICOLE in cyberheaven, she becomes her equal by wearing a similar outfit, which is very greek goddess inspired. What I like about Black Mirror is how they treat holograms as gods or ghosts, and it makes sense since Black Mirror is a tech-centered Twilight Zone. Using supernatural elements, but giving them updated lore. NICOLE wears purple and Sally wears Blue. Harmonizing color scheme but also Blue, is what Sally is associated with, which represents tranquility. Her wearing a goddess like outfit represents that shes not only at peace, but blue is also her connection with Sonic. And since Sally is now basically with NICOLE, Sonic will now carry the device around so they'll be together forever.
Theres a disturbing resolution I had regarding Sally's body now that her "soul" has left it. If Sonic doesnt destroy it during a battle or something, Id have the Acorns use the body as a display piece in their palace. Like a suit of armor standing in a hall that memorializes her. But the contrast is that its this dead yet evil looking robot with non-lit eyes, standing infront of portrait of Sally looking either happy or courageous which could represent her freedom.
And whos to say. Sally is now an AI. So if Eggman or another villain decides to launch another attack, MAYBE, they can re-transfer Sally into Mecha Sally as the Acorn's new defense weapon. Im assuming Eggman's control wouldnt be factor if hes defeated already or his mainframe is deactivated? But imagine Mecha Sally fighting on the side of good, being more of a bad ass!
But its your story dude. Theres so many options out there with the Sword of the Acorns, Source of It All, Chaos Emeralds, Ring of Acorns, forcing Naugus to pull the same trick he did with Bunnie, the piece of the Krudzu plant that Shard obtained.
Sonic is a world of science, technology and magic. Its why I love Archie since it perfectly balanced all that. But, maybe you wont use any of these ideas and so something completely unexpected.
Or, this WHOLE ordeal was just a horrible dream from Sonic eating bad chili dogs at that restaurant the night prior from his date with Sally. And then wakes up the next day that he, Tails and Sally were supposed to infiltrate the Death Egg MK II and has 2nd thoughts lol
Anyway, thats my take I guess

From a narrative perspective, it seems more appropriate for Sally to be with NICOLE. They were together since she was a toddler, had many experiences throughout her upbringing and shared many adventures. Its an endearing way for the entire Archie saga to come full circle. Sally becoming the new NICOLE.
Remember, according to Archie's pre-reboot lore, NICOLE was sent by Future Sally with the implication that NICOLE IS Sally. But that all changed when Hololynx was introduced to give her unit a physical identity.
However, I still believe that NICOLE is Future Sally but in this lynx form. With the two uniting after Sally's "death," it brings balance and allows Sonic to be the new bearer of NICOLE. They can finally be together forever...at least for the rest of Sonic's life.

Its not sad, its bittersweet. The characters still get a satisfying ending, but in a way thats unexpected yet poetic. Tragedy makes for good storytelling when done right and Glitcher's short stories involving SatAM characters have some of the best aspects of drama and symbolism Ive seen in Sonic fan fiction.
Think of Sally as Darth Vader. A once hero turned to villainy by coercion. The body is more machine than organic. Follows orders by a higher authority.
Her lightly toned orange color is now a menacing dark blue, which is cleverly used since orange and blue are contrasting colors. Sally was literally and figuratively stripped of her identity leaving her with nothing but an empty shell that blindly follows its master, with her "soul" trying to escape.
Sonic and the gang sees past her twisted exterior as they still believe theres good in her. Shes being endlessly tortured by watching herself terrorize and kill the mobians she loves. She needs to break out of her "prison" and end her misery where she can ascend to a "heaven" like state to find peace.
Notice how NICOLE in the comics wears an angelic wardrobe as seen in greek mythology. Shes all knowing and helps guide those in need. Shes essentially God, but of cyberspace. Sally joining NICOLE allows her to continue her aid with the Freedom Fighters. Obviously rebuilding from the destruction she caused would be her redemption arc. But as a nice epilogue, Sally and NICOLE would be tandem protectors of Mobius as Sonic and the remaining Freedom Fighters continue battling evil.

But we don't know if Glitcher is going to go for that ending. But i do want one thing, Robotnik's demise. But how goes i was thinking Sonic throws him in a volcano or Mecha Sally mutilates him like he did to her.

Hmmm, that can work too. But if you want a more light heart ending, heres another idea:
Lets say Sally does get de-roboticized...somehow. Her physical form is restored, BUT mentally scared. Her state is now akin to a toddler or primitive chipmunk. Timid, shy, paranoid, and mute. The only way she communicates is through incoherent whimpering chipmunk noises.
After months of unsuccessful treatment from Dr Quack, he relinquishes his care over to Rosie Woodchuck under the Acorn's approval.
This is another clever way to bring the story full circle since Rosie was Sally's nanny growing up. This reunion gives them both a 2nd chance to re-live those years they lost during Robotnik's take over. Its like a re-birth where Sally gets to experience the childhood she never had, while Rosie gets to witness her mental growth.

Remember the fight with Metal Knuckles during the original Endangered Species arc? That had the plant, if they get a sample of that and use it to build the Derobotocizer then it could work

To clear things up: The fight with the Krudzu in Albion never happened in this comic, since it redacts the story from Sonic #243 onwards. The last time the heroes encountered the Krudzu was in issue #241 where Sonic sent it to a watery grave. Silver is on his way to retrieve it for the Deroboticizer right now.
