Description
Run time: 12:20You may find it faster/smoother to download the file to your desktop and play it in your browser.
Also, be sure to check out my Prints II Windows XP FTP Tutorial to learn how to upload via FTP.
In November, 2006 deviantART Prints II was launched. The most important change is the addition of the Standard Print Account, available now to all deviants free of charge. That's right, every single one of the 3.5+ million members of deviantART now has a free Standard Print Account. This tutorial will show you how you can easily make your work available for free to the entire world in a variety of sizes, finishes, and products.
This tutorial is far from perfect but I'm far from being a professional speaker so it all works out.
Things I missed
• Crop nodes. The nodes on the corners and sides of your preview in the Adjust Image tool will allow you to do a custom crop on your work, rather than just relying on the Scale tool and default crop/matte options. Be sure to play with these settings until you get the look you desire.
• Canvas prints. Using the matte feature will ensure your image is not wrapped around the wooden frame used for canvas prints.
• FTP uploads are now synced with the File Deck.
If you notice anything else I've missed that you feel is significant, please let me know. An updated version is in the works.

No, all prints submitted are available and visible to all. One method I've seen artists use is to increase the price significantly to discourage outside buyers. The artist can always purchase their own work at base price regardless of the sale price.

So if I only have a standard print account, do I still get money for selling my prints? And do I have to be 18? I'm so confused!

just like music charts of MTV-Europe channel says..
"This The New Sh*t!"
so,Great news! that will allow allot of members to review the prints program, and test it themselves somehow..
though,i had one major problem while trying prints system, the "Quality-check" of the prints is always stays as unverified quality for Basic-print/standard program and people always seem to be afraid to buy a print that may fail its process,or isn't professional enough..
it could be a way to verify the quality by yourself,if just dA had a Buying Simulation program, which will order a free print for quality inspection only, and respond you automatically if the quality is verified or not, then it cancels the order it requested, and the print stays as not free order, but you could now know that quality is working fine.
it just too bad dA doesn't has such option exist..

But...doesn't DA have a rule against people under 18 having prints?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
robert In reply to sorceress-Ayi [2006-12-14 22:44:34 +0000 UTC]
People under 18 are more than welcome to have prints or buy them.
They cannot however, sell prints for a variety of reasons. Their best bet is to have their parents setup an account and sell the prints for them. This approach solves most of the problems.

Well that's good news. Users who purchased a Premium account before the launch of Prints II were "grandfathered" into the new program. You've just saved yourself from having to purchase a Premium print subscription with a yearly fee. You'll have yours on that account without the extra fee. Premium accounts get all sorts of benefits so this is a good thing!
