"Aren't you guys worried that Trident will come looking for their stuff?" Said a blonde pirate, sitting down on a crate of newly aquired loot after a successful boarding party on a Trident cargo ship. She was the new guy of the crew, and had little experience with the raids.

"Who invited the cherry?" One of the female pirates in the rear said, dropping her torso armor, and removing her top "that's better.." she muttered "Fucking sweaty as shit in that stuff."

"One of the newbies we picked up at Thessius I." One of the others replied, leaning against a crate.Both seemingly ignoring the new girl

"Trident's stretched thin as it is. Between the Crimsons, Ortage, the Syndicate, us and the raiders, their fleet here is barely managing to hold the area around Port Lucas. I mean at this point they're just relying on the Terran forts to protect them." The man in the most armor snorted, heaving his rifle on his shoulder.

"Oh. So what's in these crates anyway?" The blonde asked as she looked back down at the box she was sitting on, holding onto her rifle

"Foodstuffs mostly, but there were a few good power core and weapon shipments. The cores would sell on the market for a good million and the food's mostly for everyone on Junker's rest."

"None of the loot is for us?"

"Not this run. Though I'm keeping one of those Trident rifles. Cap' would be a damn idiot to pass those up." He said glancing over his shouldered rifle at some of the weapons crates in the back.

The topless pirate scratched her chin with her cybernetic hand a little turning over to the weapons cache in the back, "I'd love to get one of my hands on those too. Wish we had that shit in the army. That would have been a game changer." snorting a little she turns back to the blonde "'stead of the piss awful recycled shit the Connies issued. You ever use a 100 year old rifle?"

The blonde quietly shook her head

"Join the Confederate army." She said spitting "If a weapons malfunction won't get you, then the shit assignments will." She said pointing to her arm

In the late 2760's piracy had begun to hit it's all time high in the Free Colonies. It was mostly brought on after the massive power vacuum created after the end of the first Xeno-Terran war. Which officially was a victory, but was more like a peace treaty signed because nobody had the manpower, strength, economy, or will to continue the fight. The Azen Empire had shrunk to a tenth of it's original size, the Staevik Republic had collapsed as it's colonies, military fortresses and fleets sat nearly undefended and perfect to be looted, and the newly liberated colonies by the Terrans had not even set up a stable government yet. Best of all The Terran military had almost vanished from anywhere outside of their original territory, neither having the army nor navy to occupy and defend the colonies. It was all ripe for Piracy. The opportunity was not missed at all by the hundreds of disgruntled trade-ships, rogue military assets, or neutral colonies wanting to get in on territory expansion.

Since the end of the First Xeno-Terran war however, Piracy had been a problem, but never became a real threat until a former Imperial Admiral, Admiral Svensk and his mysterious 2nd in Command, designated as 'Artemis' by Confederates, unified the Pirate, Smuggler, Raider, slaver, and other mercenary and underground elements into making a 'rogue nation' in the early 2770's. This was it's highest point. It had become so much of a threat, the corporations could barely do anything against them, and the Confederate government was struggling to fight the war against them. The reformed Empire would not dare to cross it's border under threat of Terran pre-emptive attack, and the Terrans did not care about the pirates as the pirates did not attack or harrass Terran ships. And the Staevik Union would not leave outside of it's Iron curtain. Almost all the superpowers just sat by and let the Pirates gain ground and raid the free colonies. It put strain on corporations and bled the market dry.

It wasn't until late in the year 2772 that the Terrans, out of nowhere arrives at the Pirate capital of Valan, attacking it from it's exposed rear, and frantically sending the Rogue Nation into Panic mode. Other free nations also had sent fleets coincidentally at the same time period to grab back territory and system the Rogues had captured. It was a crushing defeat and threw the Rogue nation back into it's original unorganized and chaotic state. Svensk mysteriously vanished as the headpiece, and the clans, fleets, and factions broke apart. The Rogue nation ended almost as soon as it began. However, it displayed to the free colonies, that the like of Pirates and Raiders is a much bigger threat if they're allowed to unify.
