A Staevik sniper on the prowl as he just begins to activate his stealth cloak and get into position. Yes the sniper is too big to fit, but when he actually gets into a good spot it's easy to cover up with brush and leaves.
Just an unknown fellow. Wanted to play around with backgrounds and the concept of stealth cloaks mostly, figured a sniper would do.

Thanks! Really pushing myself. Though my abilities to do a lot of super coloring is very hindered by this laptop. When I get back home I plan on playing around a lot more with coloring.

What is it with Staevik and dehumanizing prosthetics? I could understand low-budget models being robotic, maybe, but grasshopper legs?! Exposed pseudo-muscle? Claws?
No wonder the soldiers are unhappy.

The Staevik took a really bad turn towards the end of the first Xeno-Terran war. A REALLY bad turn as unfortunate as it is. But in desperation it drove them to do unthinkable things which brought them to where they are now. To them, soldiers are no longer people, but objects. Property. Things that they can twist and mold however they want. And what they want are killing machines.
It's because of this that their army is probably one of the most diverse and customized out there, with nearly ALL kinds of cyborgs, or robotic limbs/enhancements.
In this snipers case, the legs are for moving faster, claws for digging into the ground to help propel it, or to stabilize it's position when firing, as well as to help bearing weight.
Arms are for bearing weight and a spine that connects the two to reinforce it all.
Though, some people who join are already cybornetially enhanced anyway, so it's just a matter of replacing some parts over chopping off limbs and putting new ones on.
And unhappy? possibly. It all depends on how the soldier views the enhancements. Many try to keep whatever shred of humanity they have left, but yes, many lose the last scrap of humanity and just end up becoming EXACTLY what the staevik want them to be.

Nah, all the major factions have cloaking technology. The technology I use is really based off of current concepts that exist today, and in small tests prove to work. I just brought it all out, because fuck it, in 700 years from now we're going to have that shit.

50 years? I can possibly see that. Or at least something similar. We already have a few cloaks that are invisible to cameras though, so we're on the right way, as well as a reactive camo thing that is in the works.

The Staevik Union is well known for their use of cybernetic and bionic augmentations. Most of their regular army is made of of cybernetically augmented soldiers.
This fellow right here had had his legs and arms replaced, as well as his spinal column reinforced to be able to help support the arms, and the weight of that rifle. As the Staevik have been augmented so much, they still have the ability to speak but //>when they talk like this
