Do you use a pen when doing lineart? or do you only use a pencil? If you use a pen, what kind? (all the pens I've used smudge when I erase my line art )

ps.for the 2nd version of the lineart, how do you get it so smooth?
I tried it just like you said, and it seems to be all sharp and way to thick when i resize....
it all so edgy and discusting lol. But from what i can see here, the lines are perfectly smooth and think/thick just in the right places what a mistery

Man, I dislike doing line art free-hand without the aid of the Pen Tool or something but now I can get a grasp how you can do it that way in PhotoShop, but it seems really time consuming and difficult as I don't think I'd have that much discipline and patience. XD

Dude, I just have to say that your tutorial cleared up a lot of misconception I had about CG lineart. Since I don't have a scanner, I have to do everything in PS. Lineart has always been a pain for me to do (#゜皿゜ ) but now I know what I did wrong! （*＾ワ＾* ) (was drawing with 72 dpi... OTL) Oh, the trick with the mask gradient coloring is pretty handy too! It makes me happy, so happy ♪♪＼(^ω^＼ )( /^ω^ )/♪♪

I wish I had a tablet and Photoshop... It was interesting seeing how those pictures were done. Even if I don't have the program, the method of shading was interesting and it gave me some good ideas.
