Description Here is an example of a Pzkpfw-IV Ausf-D from the 5th leichte Division, 5th Panzer Regiment, 4th Company (DAK) during “Operation Crusader” November, 1941. The vehicle has an overall base coat of dark gray (RAL 7027) with a nearly complete overcoat of desert yellow (RAL 8000). Markings consist of a large tactical number ‘414’ in red outlined in white on the sides and rear of the turret. DAK markings, found on the front, sides (and probably) rear of the superstructure, have been stenciled directly onto the vehicle’s original dark gray base coat. A rather small balkankreuz has been added to the superstructure sides and (probably) hull rear. Notice that this vehicle possesses nearly all the same modifications found on the 5th Regiment DAK vehicle on page 36.
