Description
This Pzkpfw-IV has been converted to a Tauchpanzer-IV discernable by the gasket around the turret and superstructure front. It displays a curious four digit tactical number ’1233’ in white outline on the turret sides and rear. A small divisional symbol, probably in yellow, has been stenciled on the armored brake cooling air outlet fan cover. It looks as if it may be the ‘break through’ symbol of the 20th Panzer Division, but this cannot be verified. Another unusual feature of the vehicle is the third spare road wheel that seems to be bolted directly to the side superstructure in place of the wooden jack block and its mount. Unlike the road wheels fitted to the vehicle, all spares are of the later Ausf-E type.
