Hi folks! I thought it would be a nice idea to have a tut on how to make a glass sphere with a nice refraction effect like in my former deviation here: [link] . Honestly I couldn't figure out exactly how I did it, but I think it's quiet close to it. If you have any questions about this tut, just send me a note or comment here (I LOVE COMMENTS

PS: Of course you could use a 3D programm instead, but that's not cool

This was a fun tutorial! I always hated that I couldn't paint my own glass orb texture (and 'spherize' can only get you so far), and this really is a nice, simple and sweet tutorial. Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful tutorial! I love how you do your orbs. I used it to create one, but I got confused in some places... So I just did my own thing in those areas. ;3

In the 4th step, when you create a new layer, do you fill that layer with your backgroud color again?

That's a real good question. It dosen't come out clearly in my description. So yes, you have to fill it, otherwise you can't use the lense flare tool - you're right. But just use black for the fill and then set your layer to dodge or any other layer effect you like.
