Description Is...is this a job for human rights activists or for PETA?

Okay, this is something that has bothered me for years, and in all sorts of medium.
So I'm furnishing my little Animal Crossing cottage, right? But I don't know if I'm comfortable with keeping a caged canary (which is a furniture item) in the window when my next-door neighbor is a talking, four-foot-tall robin.

It's the same thing in what was one of my favorite childrens's show, Arthur , too. He's got a little pet dog, but one of his best friends is also a dog. And it happens again with Goofy and Pluto of the Disney universe; both are dogs, but they live in different castes of domestic hierarchy. What is this?

And when you encounter this sort of thing at such a young age, it's...I don't know, it's just crippling.

You know? You raise a really good point! WTF IS going on with these "dual caste" situations?

One day they will prove their superiority by rising up and killing everyone. What they do now is just a cover-up. >.>

But that's just my theory.

The more you think about things like that the less happy you are... I'm so jealous of stupid people sometimes. >_>; I guess as long as it's not in a cage (except for it's own protection, you never know when that cat might be wandering around your house on auction day) and it's happy then who's to complain?

I have wondered that about Goofy and Pluto and the Animal Crossing thing, myself.

ive wondered about that for a long time but then i saw this ep of diseny cartoon called darkwing duck and the main character whent back in time and the dinosers could talk and crud..and they said at some point Good thing we killed off all those little monkey things b4 they spread and covered the plaent 8D! ..so im guessing in the cartoon world of weirdness mice and dogs and crap became the domant life forms...while there are still some kinds of dog and stuff that they keep as pets....!?!?!?

It's evolution, baby.

Goofy's race evolved from a race like Pluto's and joined the duck/mouse society.

That had always bugged me about Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. How can a mouse own a dog and had a 'normal' dog friend simultaneously had me scratching my head.

It is the result of spending too much time on Second life. You start hallucinating fuzzies in everyday experiences. The it is similar to the effect reached when one watches too much pornography.

SORT OF LIKE A SHOW ~Infusions AND I ARE MAKING CALLED ZIAK. :D

This whole concept reminds me of Meowth from Pokemon. Meowth is more humanlike than a normal Meowth in that he walks on two legs and talks in words, but they're both the same general species....

ALTHOUGH

I see what you mean about being four feet tall and wearing clothes and whatnot. I'll bring a Cats and Dogs theory onto the table as well: maybe all animals think on this level and just play dumb, and the anthropomorphic-looking ones just happen to fit a more human-like physical appearance.... I dunno. But when all else fails....

BLAME THE WRITERS. :'C

I guess it has something to do with bringing reality into a cartoon universe, but who knows D: Ah well, its funny anyway

Hypocrisy is a crazy thing.
What's really fun is when you find an animal that has that caged canary in their house, as well as a gerbil (Which never stops running), and a gold fish, and the animal keeps asking for fish and bugs.

I guess some animals like to flaunt their superiority over others by keeping pets.

You forgot Minnie's stupid cat, who I can't remember the name to, and Pete. :3
Disney, you so crazy.

I thought that if there were always two different types of dog...biped and quad, that thir culture would recognise that difference and see the two as seperate beings. If there were hairless monkeys, we wouldn't exactly see them as being animalistic humans...we'd see them as other creatures.

That was always my take on it anyways...

...I think it may be too in depth to and more philosophy...that's one of the things that is sooo great about cartoons...THEY are CARTOONS bending and breaking the rules is what makes them enjoyable... one of the reasons it works is because you don't have to think about why, you just accept it as is...

sure you can ponder, but when you realize it's just a cartoon, you'll feel stupid later...
