Thanks! I used a very fine brush, working dark and light, with thin washes of colour in between. I used mainly Chromacolour acrylics, which are very pigment-rich and can be thinned right down like inks.

You could have a look at Jan Martin McGuire's book on painting wildlife if you want to have a go. Her instructions on painting fur and eyes etc is very clear and easy to follow.

I'm not satisfied with this picture either. The cloud/trees thing doesn't work the way I wanted it too and I whimper despairingly at the (lack of) composition. Also not sure where the wolf went wrong. But it was good practice.
