Ballpoint pen on paper. Inspired by David Dorman's work on 'Aliens: Tribes' and several different ocean life forms. I had so much fun designing these critters.[edit] Uploaded full, uncropped image.

*gapes* there is such a thing as..."Art homework"? What school are you going to? I need to enroll.
My science teacher told me at my conference about a heaven on earth called "art college" where you could go without eating and sleeping to do art, and nobody cares.
I do that already, except people care, unfortunately. So it's always lights out at ten.
Which sucks.
Anyways...what is this "art homework" like? Is it hard? In a fun way?

Gah, sorry it's taken me so long to reply to you. It's all this homework!
Sadly the Promised Land of Art College is not so easily obtained...at present I am in the purgatory of 'A' Level Art In Addition To Full Time Job. Mostly the homework is sketching matchboxes and drawing my own feet. But the discipline is good, even if I don't produce anything I want to upload here!
I keep telling myself that, anyway. Really I'm just learning new and exciting ways to avoid sketching matchboxes.

*gapes* *cannot believe no one has commented* This is wicked awesome. Seriously. Your stuff actually looks as if it could be real. I don't suppose you used any anatomy refs on this? Muscle/bone structure is what I'm working on right now.

I've got some dragon stuff to put up soon...if I ever finish my art homework.
Gray's Anatomy and a book on drawing horses were my only guides when I drew this - mostly I made it up. Nowadays I think "Skeleton, where are the bones going...right, where do the muscles attach?" but I really need to work on musculature. I can't draw fur-covered things forever.
